Anybody do a clear glaze after highlights?

I think I read somewhere that Struttswife recommended a clear glaze over color to seal the color and prevent fading (I could be wrong, but I think I saw this).

I just had my highlights and lowlights done and asked my colorist if she ever did a clear glaze over color. She said yes, absolutely, and that it could help prevent color fade. When I asked if it would cause any damage, she said no, it's actually "conditioning" and flattens the cuticle.

Anybody have experience with this? I did the clear glaze, I'm not sure what I think of it. My hair seems okay in general but it had a heavy chemical smell for a couple of days thereafter and seemed a little drier than usual.

I have fine, porous hair and am trying so hard to get it healthy. I just don't want to do any more damage by making the wrong decisions. Is there a specific type of "clear glaze" that is healthier than other options?

I did a Nexxus Emergencee treatment the day before the color. It's been almost two weeks - should I do another one?

Thanks so much in advance!
