I have tried a few combos and I'm looking for a few more. So far grapseed oil has been the best carrier for me. Olive oil smells. coconut changes forms to often.

and for the herbs

calendula
hibiscus
lavender

and

nettel
comfrey leaf
horsetail
lavender

have worked out well, what are you trying?

How do you do this? Do you warm the oil and let the herbs steep and then strain it? How long does it take? I'm really interested in trying this. So far all I've done is make my own mix of oils and then fragranced with EO.

I fill a 4oz glass jar with the herbs, then put in the oil til the herbs are fully covered. Then put the open jar in a pot full of water, put the burner on the lowest setting for 6 hr. After I put cap on, shake it up and place in a dry cool place for 2 weeks, and shake it up everyday.

You can use a crockpot depending on your jar size, and also I have just started taking an oil that has been sitting for a week, and heating it up again for half the time, and letting it sit for another week.

After the 2 weeks I strain the oil and use it; or for a stronger infusion, I strain, add new herbs, and start over with the same oil.

I sometimes add EOs or Fragrance oil to the finish product.

Grape seed oil has worked well for me, next up will be safflower oil. If you try it please let me know how it when.
o rosemary smells a little funky too. GOOD LUCK!! :o)

Wow, that has to be a reeeally effective oil! It sounds great and very thorough:thumbup:

I recently started infusing my Vatika oil (I know, Vatika is already infused with herbs). I use Vatika and infuse it with Amla, Bhringraj, Fenugreek, and Bhrami. Glass jar, crockpot for 6hrs, and strain. Smells delicious and takes on a rich green color. I haven't noticed any effects yet, but I plan on using it 2x weekly as a scalp (and hot oil) treatment. If I do see some improvement, I'll check back in with you guys!

I mix a drop of Rosemary EO with Jojoba oil as my carrier and massage my scalp, I love it. Rosemary is a bit strong-scented though, so be careful not to add too much! :)
