Fluffy puffy hair

I've gone back about 3 pages or so and didn't see anything about this. I also used the search function and didn't see anything recent.

Anyway, for about the last month or so my hair seems to want to go fluffy/puffy. It is not much longer than what is in my pic, maybe about an inch, but I'm thinking I may need a hair cut.. I don't want to cut tho.

I am using the same amount of product that I always have, but maybe now I need more? It is still hot down here in Fla. most days, but perhaps the dews and humidity are lower.

Only other thing I can think of is I haven't done an acv rinse in a little while, but I'm not sure if this will make much of a difference anyway.

Maybe I should start using a curl cream on top of my leave in? I haven't been doing that. I also haven't been using any LOOB because it did start to build up after a while on me.

Any experience, product, or other recommendations will be much appreciated! Everything that I use and my hair type is listed in my sig. :happy7:

    maybe you're due for a Protien treatment/acid rinse/moisturize session.

I'm 2C and when I'm too fluffy and puffy which is all the time, the above combo reduces both for me.

I think it might be the weather. I'm having the same problem right now. I'm really puffy. Ican't seem to find anything to control it all that well. The dews are still high but it's not quite as hot as it was. Maybe that's the issue - more water in the air? I dunno but I'm experiencing the same thing you are right now so that leads me to believe it might be the weather.

    ITA with you tinah.
My hair has also been "acting up."
Seems to be unusually BIG lately. I had started to use less CK than I had over the summer and poof!
I guess the dews and humidity are still in the summer mode here.
We are still in the high 80s and low 90s.
When will we get a break??
Been having record temps down here in SFL.

If we all just hang in there for a while longer good hair days will come, sooner or later the heat it bound to let up.

Since this is my first florida "winter" CG, I've just been assuming it really never gets cool enough for it to make a difference in the hair lol.

ITA tinah! More water in the air. Personally, I think that's why we shouldn't completely ignore relative humidity, because if your dew is close to your temp, you have more water in the air and you have to adjust for it. Or we just need to point out that the closer your dew is to your temp, its going to reek havoc on your hair the same as a high dew.

Thanks Ladies :D You all confirmed my thoughts on the weather being the culprit.

As for the protien, I did use K PAK recently, because I thought that might have been it too.

I am always afraid of putting too much leave in in my hair because I've gotten the greasy stringy effect before. However last night I took a chance and used triple the amount of leave in that I would normally use. I also used my white rain instead of my Giovanni because unfortunately I just ran out.

I had better results, my hair stayed un-poofed longer than it has been.

Next wash I'll use double the gel than normal and see if that helps.
