Hey everybody this is my first post! I have a bi-racial son that is white and black. I am white but I have type 3a or 3b hair that is really curly. My son has type 3c or 4a hair too that when its cut low has the nicest waves, but if it gets long enough to curl, the curls are SO tiny. His hair isnt nappy just dry. I have not been able to find a good product that I can buy in stores to use on his hair! I need something that moisturizes, holds his curl, and isnt greasy so it wont break my face out. I have very sensitive skin. I only wash his hair maybe once a week and make sure to condition very well and I use product everyday, but it still seems that his hair gets too dry and brittle every once and a while. I have been keeping it cut low so he has waves, i take him to a barbershop every 2 weeks to keep a fresh cut and shape up. Do you guys have any recommendations for what to use for waves when its short and curls when its long?? If you have a recommendation for a better shampoo and conditioner too that would be great. Thank you so much!!

My daughter has 4A mixed w/ some 3C and I believe 4B hair and I currently use Organix Coconut Milk Shampoo and Herbal Essences Hello Hydration Conditioner. I almost always leave the conditioner in, especially if I'm looking for curl definition. I also use Giovanni Direct Leave-in for moisture and 100% African Shea Butter w/ Coconut Oil. That's what works on my biracial daughter's hair. She is 1/2 black, 1/4mexican, and 1/4 white.

Organix & Herbal Essences products you can find at Walmart, CVS, Riteaid, Target, and so on. Givanni Direct Leave-in you can probably find at Wal-mart and Target in their organics section, I bought mine from Marshall's for $5 per bottle though so try Marshalls or TJ Maxx for that, if that is a product you are looking to be. Shea butter and coconut oil you can find at a whole foods store or health foods store. I'm sure there are plenty of other places though. I bought my shea butter from a beauty supply store.

put him on a satin pillowcase and/or satin sheets to sleep. it definitely helps with moisture issues!
