Winter hair - where'd my bounce go????

Hi girls.
I know I know, this subject has been covered a thousend times over, but its worthy of a resurrection (a) because its such a common ailment, and (b) because nothing compares to personal and up-to-date advice from a bunch of people who know what theyre doing ;o) so where I am.

Its England. Its autumn/winter. And my hair has decided that its new style for the indefinite future is "flat top - straggly curls - some straight bits"

Frizz is a BIT of a problem, but my main concern at the moment is the fact I LOVE big biiiiig hair, and Im currently so very lank :-( anyone got any tips?

I never quite got my head around, is it humectants? or something. Something designed to pull moisture in from the environment around you. is this recommended? if so, any product/ingredients to be looking out for?

Oh girls, please help me get my curls and volume back... I cant be lank... I just cant... lol

    Hi,

I use less product and try a leave in-it doesnt have to be heavy. A spray in will do. Other than that, we have to live with it-we cant change the seasons!

Hey ;o) thanks for your reply hun.
Actually yes, Ive just discovered today that less IS more... in our current climate at least. A few weeks ago I was moisturising to my hearts content, protein'ing, then adding leave-in with [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] and had fab results... now Im finding a wee bit of pink boots on its own is giving the best results.... how very interesting. youd think youd need MORE products to protect against the harsh winter weather, wouldnt you.

Actually, I need more in the summer to keep it defined, whereas in the winter all it seems to do is weigh it down. Funny how climate changes everything!

I'm having the same problem...well, similar. My curls are less curly and less defined, and I have less volume. I know that the weather is causing this. It was pretty warm until a few weeks ago, then it started getting colder (50-60 degrees...I live in California where the summer temperatures are almost aways over 100--50-60 degrees is cold for daytime!).

Then it got warm again, and my hair went back to normal...more defined, bigger volume, ect. Today it's cold again and my hair is acting up.

I never thought of using less product...thanks for suggesting that, eamones! I never thought of using a spray leave-in. Maybe I should. I'll try using less product and see what happens :)

And Fluffy4Eva, maybe you want to try a thicker rinse-out and a gel that locks in moisture along with eamones' suggestions :)
