New to forum, Shampoo Recipe Needed

Hi all,
I am new to the site, and I would like to go completely CO, but still have a homemade shampoo to clarify occasionally. Any ideas??

Do you mean you want to make a completely natural and home-made shampoo to clarify. The only natural ingredients that have clarifying properties as far as I know are baking soda, soap nut (shikakai), vinegar and lemon. However, I noticed you have processed and bleached hair, so you should go easy with these ingredients or they could damage your hair.
You can buy ground shikakai for $3 at any east indian market. They also sell rose powder which you can get also for its moisturizing properties (since I find the shikakai can be very drying). Then you can make a paste mixing the shikakai and rose powder with water. This is a completely natural, non sudsing shampoo that will clarify your hair. Make sure to use a moisturizing conditioner after.

I use shikakai. I use it at the scalp mostly because it is good for nourishing the scalp. But I agree it is drying so I have a moisturizing shampoo bar I got from Etsy i use with it. I also prepoo with Evoo and follow the shampoo with a dc so with all that no dryness. My shikakai poo bar is $3 at indian store.
Strange. I have never heard of a white people's regimen. Lots of shampooing and not much conditioning?? Sounds like a curly hair disaster. I don't want any part of that. Anyway, High porosity means your hair absorbs moisture quickly. The result is often you feel like you can never put enough moisture in your hair. Think of that plant in Little Shop Of Horrors constantly saying "feed me." chemicals can raise porosity. My hair was like that when relaxed. So bleaching and no moisturizing wouldn't be a good combo.
