I am 7 months transitioning, gonna be trying the Aestelance Balm leave in as recommended by Lovestosamba on another thread. It's not natural but, I will try anything to help me with this alien hair that's growing out of my head. I don't know if I will have any hair left after this transition, cause I just wanna let the scissors take a walk in my head right about now. I've braided my hair today so I'll keep it for a month maybe more. I don't know if people really know what I am talking about with this texture. It's the likeness of Brillo Pads, repels moisture no matter if it's wet and soaked with Conditioners,it feels like steel. I am currently Mod CG, I don't use Cones, sulfate shampoo 1X month, cause I get build up from the butters I put on my hair to "try" to moisturize it. The worst is at the nape, and it tangles like nothing I've seen in my 26 years of life. I comb it and twist it but when I undo it I have to untangle again, and the 2 textures is not making it any better.:sad::sad::sad::sad::sad::sad: it's bad enough I am being told I am crazy by my mom for wanting to chop off my hair to go look like a slave. To have her prove me right when she sees the BC with these metal, it aint happening. Nothing works that I have tried as natural products, butters, V05, JCWDT or [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Too-Shea-Extra-Moisturizing-Conditioner-p-105.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-too-shea-extra-moisturizing-conditioner]JC too shea[/buylink], Afro Detangler. I am thinking at this point I am just wasting products on these genetic crap coming out of my head. Butters sit on top of my hair, but conditioners seems to be sucked up but still doesn't moisturize my hair. As soon as my hair dries it's back to steel. I figure, i'll be rich if I start selling these as pot scrubbers.

Hello, I am 6 months into transioning and I did the big chop on April 24, 2009. I find very helpful a site called Hydratherma Naturals.com. Saleemah Cartwright gives plenty tips for people who are in transition. Go there and take in all of her advice. I did and you will be glad you did too. My hair is so soft and manageable. I am 4 A/b and I love my kinky locks because of Hydratherma Naturals. I started at about 12 to 13 inches of my own hair and cut it to 1 1/2 inches after a bad texturizer experience. I ordered her products and the rest is history. My hair is now 1/2 of a hands length and no breakage and it is so strong. My hair has never been this good. For curl definition I use Miss jesse's [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Miss-Jessies-Curly-Pudding-p-578.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=miss-jessies-curly-pudding]curly pudding[/buylink]s. They are compatable with each other. You can e-mail me if you like for more tips. Happy hair growing!!!!

theres is no help for scab hair, its something very very dead, the after math of having no perm for a long long while. its not even hair. no choice but to grow it out. it took me a month to grow it out if not less.

A product to make tranistioning EASIER!
Scissors. Think of it like this, your mixing dirty clothes with clean clothes, you can use all the perfum you want (hair product) but the dirty clothes (permed hair) will never be clean, will eventually get old, raggedy, and eventually start shredding/breaking(natural&permed hair). Don't waste your time. Transitioning for most is a :boxing: fight that relaxed hair will win!

WOW!!!! You guys are scaring me...I've been transitioning now for 4 months im begining to see what you mean the relaxed hair is changing. Its become limp and lifeless when wet its hard to detangle its not as bad when dry. It is very frustrating and i know i should BC but i want at least 6" before i do it im a CHICKEN!!!...I will have to check out Hydratherma Naturals.com....I find when i use the flexi rods or i go get a roller set it helps..

I am currently 7 months in and realized I must condition (deep condition mostly), moisturize (currently using KCNT), and seal (with oil or butter) each time I wash my hair. On dry hair, I moisturize then apply butter/oil to seal. Typically, I wear twistouts, braiding my hair every other night in flat twists. I have followed the hair boards for a while now and knew basic recommendation from most curlies. But figured it did not apply to me because I was not fully natural. I skipped the “moisturizing” step altogether, using pomades/oil for moisture. Needless to say, I begin to take their advice in the past month and it’s worked for me.

My older sister is 10 months post relaxer and she uses Qhemet Biologics Amla & Olive Heavy Cream. It left her hair very soft for 4 days! The website is www.qhemetbiologics.com. Right now, the site is closed in order to prepare for their spring sale May 7 this year. Hope this helps!
Products I Use: African Black Liquid Soap, Coconut Oil, and Shea Butter.

Thanks, I am fully natural now, but I still suffer from dryness. I've been hearing of Qhemet a lot on this board, I was waiting on a sale to buy some. At this very moment I am baggying (sp), that has help a lot for me.
