Help! Growing out short, layered hair....any suggestions?

in Growing out
Hi all,
I am currently trying to grow out my short, very layered hair. At this point it just looks huge and goofy and I am tempted to trim. Should I let it grow longer and then cut it all one length so that the layers are not so obvious? I have no idea what to do. Suggestions please (thank you).

Well, moisturize a lot in general. I'm still working on the perfect detangling method though..

I feel your pain... I got a really bad short layered cut and its killing me. I've been trying to grow it out but its only been 10 weeks and I can't take it t... I actually just made an appointment w/ a curly hair specialist in a couple weeks to see if he can fix it up so its easier to grow out. I'm sure its going to get even shorter now but its so uneven I can't stand it... it drives me bonkers every morning!
