Can anyone recommend a good synthetic preservative for FSG?

I use optiphen, it is paraben free and formaldaheyde free. There is also liquid Germall which is paraben free but has a formaldaheyde releaser. However, studies have shown that the amount of Germall needed in products is too small to release any formaldaheyde. Germall is the most commonly used synthetic preservative in the entire cosmetic industry. Plus it is dirt cheap and you only need 0.5% by volume. So an 8 oz bottle of FSG would need 0.04 oz or about 1/4 ts. For Optiphen I use 1% which is about 1/2 ts for 8oz FSG.
