One of the lovely side effects of pregnancy for me is acne. It's not something I normally need to worry about and it's not terrible (fairly easy to cover with makeup) but I've been getting pimples on my chin/jawline and also tiny little blackheads/clogged pores. I was previously washing with Dove Beauty Bar or Ivory soap, and I usually moisturize with Olay Complete. A few months ago I switched to the oil-cleansing method thinking it would help, but it really hasn't. I wash with the OCM at night and in the morning I either just rinse with water or wash with Clinique 7-Day Scrub (a sample size I'm almost out of). My skin is fairly dry otherwise - it feels a little tight after I wash my face and I get flakes up between my eyebrows if I don't exfoliate.

So I guess I'm looking for a different cleanser, and possibly a gentle scrub to exfoliate. I've used Cetaphil in the past and liked it, but never when I was pregnant dealing with acne so I don't know how it would be.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I have acne-prone skin that is usually oily but occasionally dry in certain spots. I use Alba Pineapple Enzyme Scrub every morning, even though the recommendation on their web site says 2-4 times per week. I like a scrub in the morning - I feel like it wakes my skin up. It is really gentle but still exfoliating (I use a Clarisonic at night though, so that helps too). Unfortunately, it's not very cheap at $13-14 for 4 ounces, but you can get it at Target and grocery stores.

I buy my cleanser online, so I can't help you there!

I finally decided that keeping up with Murad was just too expensive so I've been replacing with things from the Boots line at Target and so far, I've been really impressed. I'm also back to using the old reliable apricot scrub on my nose for pore issues and it's helped as much as anything else has.

I really like Cetaphil facial cleanser and Cetaphil moisturizer. Mild and also good for sensitive skin. The cleanser gets your face clean without drying. If it is in your budget, maybe you can go for a facial and then start your new cleansing/moisturizing regimen.

I have dry sensitive skin and tend to use pretty mild cleansers like Cetaphil or Purpose.
When I break out, I have the Proactive stuff that I put on, but I don't use all the products at once because they are too irritating. I use either the toner by itself or a bit of the moisturizer under my regular moisturizer.
I also use a scrub and I like Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily scrub because its not too abrasive or irritating and is a good cheaper subsitute for the Clinique scrub.

check out my yogurt face wash thread in the skin care section, I've been using a mask/cleanser of yogurt and turmeric and it's awesome. Yogurt sluffs away dead skin cells, and the turmeric is great for acne and blemishes. Give it a shot!

Mamacurl I'll have to check that out.

Pixie have you seen my amazing facewash thread? It's in skincare and on the natural recipes board. I have been using it since January and I'm still having great results. On top of the washing, etc. if I get a pimple I dab a little raw honey on it at night and it's usually gone in the morning. SO and our roommate both do too even though they don't follow my regimen and it works for them too. Just a tip :) I feel for you. Actually the only time I had amazing skin was when I was pregnant :dontknow:
