If having an exotic name at an exotic sounding salon makes you a good stylist, this Carlos must be fantastic! It sounds like you're heading to Italy for a hair cut!

So what are you going to get done? Just a trim? Lose a few inches?
  • goobernutgoobernut Posts: 2,317Registered Users
awesome!! I'm excited for you. I go in on Oct 17 and I know I'm climbing the walls!

I second Laura's question. So what are you gonna get done?

I'm sure you carefully selected this stylist and salon based on many many many points.

I can only imagine how nervous this must make you.
    I would be scared sh*tless!!

For me I totally quit with the haircut (style) thing due to the fact that I can't find anyone I trust to do what I ask. I only get trims (little tiny trims) twice a year save for the bang thing.

Best of LUCK to you Rudee you deserve it!!:blob3:

He gets rave reviews here. I am going to wait and see what he suggests; altho I know I want to stay on the long side.

I have never had a curly cut before so I am super curious to see what he will do. My requests will be to lose some bulk, go for a flowy, cascading look that is neither round nor triangular.....

Plus, I have to talk him into letting me keep my straight bangs:toothy3:

He does get rave reviews here so I'm sure you'll get a fantastic cut! I got my very first Deva cut last month and I really liked it. She took out a lot of bulk and spent a lot of time cutting it without losing any of the length -- it lays so much better.

Good luck and heres sending you great haircut vibes!! :thumright:

yes, go in with your hair styled as usual. if you have pictures, that always helps. if you don't, don't worry. carlos is the only stylist i comfortably give free reign to. but it is good to communicate as much as you can with him what you want, and pictures certainly help.

    Hi Rudee
Maybe you can take your son along and have him video tape and upload on u-tube ! Just kidding!
On a serious note, could you please take notice of how he cuts your ends? I'm curious to see if it's cut blunt ended or tapered. I think i have figured out one of my hair problems and that my hairstylist has been slithering my layers with the scissors. I think this is what is causing a lot of my fly a ways

Ok guys, I am getting nervous. Like literal, queasy nervous, had a bad haircut nightmare last night, nervous.

As kharma would have it, my hair has FINALLY been looking good..... do I postpone the cut?!? But its been a good 6-7 months since I even had a trim and I think thats unhealthy. If the cut is great and perks up my hair I will be THRILLED. But if its a bomb, I will feel like " I KNEW I shoulda left well enough alone...."

I know this is normal and y'all lunatics have been here. Help me decide; or at least talk me off the ledge! My appt is THIS WEEKEND!:confused3:

Oh GAWD I feel your nerves rudee!!! I've seen msg post this before too, our hair decides to behave itself just a few days before our cut. I've had it happen to me too, so weird.

Remember you're not going in there for a BC just a Trim. Communicate as much as possible, get there early, show him on your own hair how much you expect to lose in length so there is no room for error. You're in great hands with Carlos though :)

I know exactly how you feel. My hair ALWAYS looks better right before I'm getting it cut. It's always the way. But, I would go if I were you. One time I cancelled my haircut because it looked good, and then a few days later I looked terrible and it felt too long and out of shape. I think that if you cancel, you may regret it.

I've read that you shouldn't let your hair grow too much before each cut because then the hairdresser will have a harder time keeping the shape.

Good luck, have fun, relax, and enjoy. :blob3:

    Hi Rudee!!
I assume you are not getting a drastic new style done or a way shorter cut.
JUST A TRIM and some cleaning up of the bad cut.
    RIGHT?
Don't let 'em talk you into anything you don't want.
    Keeping the bangs, length etc.
If you are clear and keep a good eye on him it will turn out GREAT!

For myself I steer clear of haircuts due to past disappointments. Have actually cried in the chair! I trim 2xs a year length an layers.

You know what you want and you know how to get it

I believe you will be very happy with this cut!!!
