I am so excited, I can finally put my hair in a bun. I did not know that I had that much length. This will probably be my winter do.

I'm so happy for your Mariamichelle. Your hair looks so healthy and pretty. A bun is a great style for winter.

Alas, I am miles behind you, lengthwise--I can just now make a little pony puff. Maybe by next year....

FYI, I used a foam donut from Sally's.

Oooh, I didn't know that's what people meant when they referred to donut buns. I'm going to see if I can find this at Ricky's or some other BSS.

I think that Sally's has a picture of the donut on their site.

I CW my hair and comb it out with a paddle brush. I apply my gel to slick it down and put it in a ponytail. I then put the donut around the ponytial and then wrap the hair around the donut and secure it with an ouchless ponytail holder. And that is it. I hope that this was helpful.

Your hair is beautiful, I have to post pics of my hair one day and maybe someone can give me advice on how to get this nice, curly, wavy, neat soft, slick look. I tried Fantasia IC and it makes my hair crunchy and it does not look soft. With Fantasic IC my sides especially by the ear do not ever slick down smooth even after the scarf. I tried Curl activator and it does not hold my hair but it does make my scalp feel good though. I am so yearning for this look but I guess it is all about the texture of your hair which can never change. I would say that I am a 4a/4b. Well, your hair is beautiful and your are definately one of my inspirations.

mariamichelle - how long did it take you to grow you hair long enough to get it in a bun?

My last perm was 1 year and 9 months ago. I used the Blue IC gel and a little of Ampro clear gel over it for hold and then I tied my hair down with a scarf for about a half hour.
