RC color

Well I posted about the brassy issue already but was thinking of trying a RC color. I have brassy orange hair and would like a light brown color. I have read alot of post on here about RC and everyone wasnt dark hair. I have tried there color before but when I ran out I didnt want to wait to get more in and I had a little problem with covering the grey but I have read on here to use heat which I didnt before. Karin suggested a while back when I used it to use golden chestnut but that went really dark I dont want to be that dark. I would just put it on for 5 mins on the length but I think I need a color I can leave on longer to cover the brassy color my hair is now. I want just a light brown color

I'm using RC golden blonde #18 to attain light brown on top of an orangy shade (I stripped down to the old bleached hair using colorfix). First time I colored all hair to tone, now just touch up roots for 45 minutes. Haven't tried heat, may do that. I have extremely resistant 80%+ gray.

    Joya,
With all the different products I use on my hair, it's hard to isolate what pulls color and what does not. I know anything with glycerine will. For 2 days after coloring I only spritz hair and apply styling product (which may also pull color). I won't stop using the Elucence though.

    Thanks!
Anyway, the RC is gentle enough to use more often if need be! 8)

how long did you leave the color on your length? I would have to leave the other color on like 5 mins or it would get to dark. That makes it a temporary color so it would fade really fast. Well I might try it any way even if it goes to dark if it wont be red brassy color I would be happy. I like darker hair but seems like it makes me look older

missy60 - looking at RC's swatches, what color is your hair most like now? What color are you trying to get? Maybe we can help choose a lighter shade for you. It sounds like the color you used is just too dark. You should choose a color about 3 shades lighter than you really want since it tends to get darker on curly hair. And remember that RC's Color won't lift natural or dyed color, so it won't get lighter if you choose a light shade. It will just cover gray and tone your hair. :) HTH
