Does that mean you are going to?

Up until now, I thought P90X looked difficult. Compared to this, maybe not?

i want to try it. i'm leery of the 3 payments though. i wonder if i can just make one payment. i've heard stories of them continuing to bill you credit card. as a fitness instructor i bet i could get some good ideas for my class from this too.

If you call, they should offer a one pay option. They will also offer things things, as soon as you say no, the agent can move on with your order.

I looked on the site, and I think there will be a one pay option there, too. It looks like you give your info, they will tell you about more stuff on the next page, and then they will give you a payment option.

If you decide to get it, let us know how it is.

i might be a sucker but i bought it. it looks interesting, particularly the fact that you don't use weights.

you can skip through a lot of offers on the site and at the very end make one payment. total w/ tax and shipping is $150. that's reasonable considering what a trainer would cost. i'm going to commit to it and do it (before and after pics too). i'll let you guys know how it goes.

Oooh, I don't think you are a sucker. I love that it doens't need anything extra to do the workouts.

I can't wait to hear what you think, and see the pictures.

thanks girl...but i will not be posting my before and after pics ;-) they're just for my "free" insanity t-shirt that i hope to get. i'll post on here. glad you posted about it. it seems right up my alley. i think i didn't get excited about p90x because of the equipment even though i do have some dumbbells around here, nothing really heavy though.

Oh I missed this thread and I might be late, but I am doing Insanity. I have 2 more weeks to finish the 60 days.

If you haven't ordered set up a TeamBeach Body account and order through that site (which means you are ordering through the coach they set you up with). You'll save on shipping and you'll know exactly what you're ordering, without being put on an autoship for the recovery drink and so on.

If you've been working out and doing other things and know how to modify things beyond what your abilities might be you'll be fine with this series.

It's very intense and requires you to push beyond your limits. Don't expect to complete the workouts at first. If you do, then you're pacing yourself and probably not pushing hard enough. The workouts do get easier as you progress, but of course then when you just start to get comfortable with the Month1 workouts, he starts you off into Month2.

I personally need to modify a couple of the moves to keep them safe for me, but I'm used to doing that. I really do like the series..

If you have any specific questions, let me know.

Oh, cool. Did you do it to loose weight or just for an exciting workout? Has there been a change in your body?

And what happens after the 60 days?

I won't be able to do this for a while, but I am curious.

I usually take up inside exercise when it's too cold to go out...but, yeah, I've been wanting to give it a shot! I also have the Chalene vids, as well...

    ruralcurls,
I did this mostly to improve my cardio capacity and to change things up. I had just finished a 3-1/2 month STS rotation from Cathe that focused on strength, so I decided to focus on cardio. I have really improved in that area with this series (and lost 4 pounds so far - nothing earth shattering, but a nice bonus).

Honestly if the series is too much, you don't have to even follow the rotation to begin with. Do what you can , when instead. You need to push your boundaries yet know your absolute limits with this series.

After 60 days (really it's 63), you can do whatever you want. You can start over (although I don't know how tough those workouts will seem after M1), or you can just incorporate them into your schedule once or twice a week. Really the choice is yours.

Personally I like to change things up since the body gets used to doing the same thing and you're more likely to fall into a rut that way. After this I plan to take a few weeks to just wing it with whatever I want and then maybe start another STS strength rotation trying to put equal emphasis on strength and cardio.

    luv,
No I didn't take pictures. I got the series right after it was released. I'm not sure if that promotion had started yet, and if it did I probably didn't see it since I ordered through the Team Beachbody site instead of through the regular site. My S&H was only around $7 instead of the incredible amount they usually charge. :?

The 1st month workouts are all around 40 minutes or under. The 2nd months workouts are all closer to an hour.

I workout first thing in the morning because it just fits my schedule better. If I wait till later I find too many other things to do instead.

Good luck and I found that for the first month, it helped if I did a quick 5 minute warm-up before his warmup. My 5 minutes on the treadmill was sort of a pre-warm up. He does warm you up really well and then you get a really long stretch (6 minutes) before he works you really hard. The extra long stretch seemed a bit strange right in the middle of the workout at first, but I learned to love it and even look forward to it. For me, I was used to a more gradual warm-up, which is why I tacked on a pre-warm up for the first month.

luv, I'm an avid sweater. I put a towel on the floor under my head for the "plank" type moves and the really reduces the amount of sweat on the floor. If I didn't do that, my floor would look close to what you see in the advertisements.

i'm not going to start today. i'm going to wait until next week. too much going on mentally. my close, dear friend's mother has stage 4 liver cancer and it's not looking good right now . plus i'm going fri for an upper gi test and an abdominal ultrasound to check my stomach because i've been having some stomach bloating and discomfort. i really want to do it but my heart and mind just aren't into it right now.

a few observations (ftfe i hope you read this and chim in!!)

1 - it's hard...maybe because i'm not a really morning person but some of the things i couldn't do on the fit test like the push up jacks and the low plank oblique move. in place of the push up jacks i just did modified push ups so i hope as i progress i'll be able to do some. in place of the low plank oblique i just held the plank which at that point was tough (it's the last exercise).

2 - it's a good workout....i was sweating, i was challenging. i'm a fitness instructor and i was still challenged. it gives me ideas for my class too.

3 - it's a good video production....no cheesy set, no weird music, no crazy talking. at least for the fit test that is...

4 - i'm glad i got it and i'm still excited even though i couldn't do some of the moves. i've got to get enough rest so i have a chance in hell to do this and improve with time.

ftfe i have a question...with the power knees are you just doing one side only? maybe i missed it but i would have thought you would have done each side for 30 secs or a mins so you stay "balanced". i was tired so i might have missed it but i didn't notice changing sides in the video.

    Hi Luv,

Shaun only has you do power knees on one side during the fit test. You only do the fit test 5 times so I didn't worry about being "lopsided". He has you do power knees in a few other workouts but he does balance those on both sides.

Push-up jacks were hard. Especially at first. I only did about 18 on my first test and my form was nothing to write home about. The low obliques were really hard my first time. My hips and calves muscles were actually cramping up on me that first and second time. They get easier.

Simply continue to modify and take notes on what you did to compare that with your next fit test. There is no way you can't improve if you continue with the workouts.

Do what you can on each workout and don't forget it's okay to modify. If you watch the workouts even the super fit people in the DVD need to take breaks. These workouts are about pushing yourself beyond your limits.

How was day 2? or are you on day 3?

i've got to figure out what i'm going to do. i did it monday but yesterday i had a 1 hour lifting class and a 30 minute class that i was teaching (rather intensly as usual) so i was too tired to do insanity. i'm going to do day 2 today. i might have to move my days around from what days they suggest...maybe even stretch it out more to accommodate my teaching schedule.
