Coconut oil should be fine. I personally like jojoba oil.

agreed. Coconut oil doesnt have anything in it that would make your hair curl. But i too suggest jojoba oil because its much lighter than coconut oil.

I almost always use coconut oil in my hair after straightening ... same as for when I leave it curly. I don't actually use pure coconut oil, haha- I use my banana boat tanning oil. I did this at the beach once and loved the way it left my hair. The only thing is you have to make sure you don't use too much- it won't really start to curl again but in my hair i noticed the ends wanted to flip in differnt directions and if I had my hair laying on my shoulder or something the layers would flip and kink.
"Is your hair natural?"- You don't honestly think I'd do this on purpose, do you?

I have 'big' hair too. The coconut oil tends to make my hair look greasy if I'm not too careful of the amount that I put on. Also with any oil, remember to oil put it on from the ear lobes down, you don't want it really near the scalp at all, talk about grease central.

I press weekly, and I use Carrot Creme & Carrot Oil as my daily mosturizers. They are light & do not leave my hair greasy. Every night, I use Hollywood Beauty Carrot Creme first, about a marble size amount, smooth it thru my hair....focusing on the ends. Then I take about 4-5 drops of the Hollywood Beauty Carrot Oil & smooth it thru as well, again, focusing on the ends. Brush with a Bore (sp) Bristle brush to ensure even coverage, then wrap my hair & secure using a satin scarf. When I wake up in the morning, my hair is soft, shiny, bouncy & moisturized.

After flat ironing my hair I used anti humectant pomade from aveda. I have a few jars of this. Everytime I use one half way I buy another. (I am going to experieiment using kemioyle shea butter pomade and/or [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/MYHoneyChild-Honey-Hair-Crme-p-515.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=myhoneychild-honey-hair-creme]honey hair creme[/buylink]). I also rolled my hair up. So I will see how it looks tomorrow at work. I hope it stops raining in the morning. I am also going to try coconut or meadowform oil. THe more moisturizing the better.

My hair was very soft and silky. I am also trying to make my own pomade. I will see how that goes.!!!
