Leave-In help..

GeminiNapsGeminiNaps Posts: 9Registered Users
I just wanted to know what are some good leave-in conditioners to use for transitioning hair. I currently have braids, but I plan on taking them out this week. And I just wanted to get my products and regimens down before I take out my braids.

I have some Infusium 23 leave-in, but I don't think that will really work well with my hair if I'm transitioning to natural.

Also, I've read a lot and seen videos on the Glycerin Spray that many ladies make themselves, would that work well on transitioning hair?

I have been using [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Mixed-Chicks-Leave-in-Conditioner-p-279.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=mixed-chicks-leavein-conditioner]Mixed Chicks leave-in[/buylink] with great success. I have also tried the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]Kinky Curly Curling Custard[/buylink] and like it. My first cousin loves the Pantene Curls Conditioner which she uses as her leave-in. I have also heard great things about Giovanni Weightless Leave-in. Good Luck!

Curl Junkie Honey Butta leave in and Afroveda [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Miss-Jessies-Curly-Pudding-p-578.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=miss-jessies-curly-pudding]Curly Pudding[/buylink] are both great leave in creams that help the curl pattern and moisturize. I've been using one or the other for my dry twists (on 2 or 3 day hair) with very good results. Both work on soaking wet hair too.

when I was transitioning the best products for my hair were Inestra by Aestelance. The hydrating balm for coarse hair detangled my relaxed/natural hair like nobody's business. All natural products didn't work on my combination hair. check out www.brightonbeautysupply.com. Yes they have some cones, but until you are all natural, you've got to stop the hair from breaking where the relaxed and natural hair meet. These product stopped me from having to do the big cut. I just let the relaxer grow out and kept all of my hair.

I've been growing my relaxer out since December 2008 and will do the BC next month. I've use suave or V05 for a leave in. I put V05 in a spray bottle and fill it with water, make sure to have more water than conditioner and use it as a leave it. It is the best for me. All other conditioners at this point in the transition cost too much. I will pay more than 1.50 on conditioner after the BC. As a deep condition I use egg and mayo or hot oil treatment (olive oil and coconut oil)
    Thick 3c/4a curls
Poo: KC Come Clean, Dr. Bronner's Castile Soap (once a week)
Detangler: V05, Suave, KC Knot today
Leave-in: VO5 or Suave in a spray bottle with water, Giovanni
DC: Queen Helen Cholesterol or egg and mayo
Sealing: Shea butter, EVCO, EVOO, jojoba oil, vitamin E oil.
Fav Style Product: Eco Styler gel, Palmers Hairl Milk

Thank you guys soooo much! This has definitely helped me. I haven't taken the braids out yet, but I will this weekend and I'll let you know my results! This is an awesome natural/transitioning community and I'm definitely gaining more confidence about my decision to go natural with such great help and encouraging words. :-)
