Sunsilk?

I've been looking a the hair product section, and it doesn't mention sunsilk products for waves/curls anywhere. I'm not sure if you can buy it in America, but when I got my waist length very straight hair (with a frizz to it) cut to just past my shoulders, I knew it would go probably go curly, as so much weight would be taken off.

Not knowing what was best, I bought the 1st products I saw, which were sunsilk frizz control cream, and the shampoo and conditioner. The 'poo and conditioner weren't all that special, but the frizz cream worked really well, as my wavy 2b/2c hair has a tendancy to frizz on the top layers, and it got rid of most of it.

I have tried loads more products, most of which are far more expensive than the sunsilk one, but none of them have worked aswell. I'm just wondering if anyone else uses this, or if there is something about them that makes them not good for your hair, as they're not talked about much on here. Thankyou for your help! :D

    I have heard that:
The shampoo contains sulfates which strip you hair of its natural oils like dishwashing detergent would And the condish contains silicones which coat your hair and can build up w/o using a sulfate shampoo

But if it works for you, thats great.

P.S. I use products with sulfates and silicones too. ;)

Just FYI, the creme has 'cones in it as well, so if you are thinking about going CG you'll probably have to find another product.

Sunsilk's products are good for dry curly hair. But for wavy hair can be too heavy.

I have 2/3a hair and used to use the poo/condish/cream combo for curly hair (in the green bottles) and LOVED it (I quit using it when I went CG). I also tried the mousse with decent results. They worked wonderfully on my hair, but built up if I did not wash with sulfates (which the shampoo has) at least every other day.

Now I am trying to avoid it, but if I end up not staying totally CG, I will definitely be going back to it. If you are not interested in going CG, I highly recommend it. I also thought the products gave me smooth hair and the creme gave me a nice piecey look when I straightened (which I don't do any more).

I loved their now-discontinued Anti-Poof creme. I thought other formulations would work the same, so I tried the Straighten Up. It was awful.

I'm not CG, by the way. Both cremes contained mineral oil, but Straighten Up contained a lot more than Anti-Poof, so it weighed down my hair. If you are a wavey in search of frizz reduction, stay away from Straighten Up!

I swear by their "Captivating Curls" hair cream-gel. I think it's CG, not sure, but its both a gel and a cream all twisted up and it works wonders.

Yeh i used the green and purple Frizz control Sunsilk creams in my pre-Curly Girl days and they worked really well! If they keep working, stick with them but you will have to shampoo.

The purple stuff smells AMAZING as well.

Before I went CG, I wouldn't leave the house without putting some SunSilk in my hair.

    It was AMAZING.

When I went CG, I was really disappointed to see that it was full of 'cones and was essentially tearing up my hair, even though it made it LOOK good.

If you're fine with using harsh sulphates (the one in the shampoo is one of the harshest on the market), then stick with it. And since your hair is more wavy than curly, then it probably doesn't have the impact on it that it would if your hair was curly, although it'll still have some. You should also keep in mind that frizz IS a sign of damage, though.

Hey, i use sunsilk shampoo, the blue one on my scalp, i think its called stay fresh or keep fresh :D as it stops my hair from getting greasy, and then i use sunsilk moisture shampoo on teh lengths of my hair,

i find i actually don't need an anti frizz shampoo, so much as just a shampoo containing alot of moisture.

the key with shampoo is to massage it through through your hair rather than scrub really hard. becasue you will strip your hair of its natural oils.

thats all my advice. oh and the moisture conditioner is great too.

    hope i helped
