BANGS. please help!

I'm having an incredibly hard decision on weather to get bangs or not. I really want long side bangs because I have a huge forehead. But I'm so unsure what they'll turn out like! I would not be wearing them curly, I would make them wave. Does anyone has pictures or suggestions? Please help me! :help:

Some people look great in bangs, but I guess I'm just not one of them. I had my stylist cut bangs for me (shorter bangs than the ones you are talking about) and they were horrible for my fine hair...horrible!

There are lots of curlies on here who have long-ish bangs though...and I think it can look very nice if you have the right hair for it.

    Good luck!

What type is your hair? because if your hair is 3a or less it won't curl so much if it's cut short, so your bangs might turn out wavy like you want.
    -3b, high porosity, medium/fine texture (I guess).
-CG-ing since 29/9/2008 (on and off)
-lifeless, limp curls that need all sorts of protein in the universe.

I have bangs that are swept to the side. They can be a PIA at times. They very from shorter (eyebrow length) to longer (below the bags under my eyes) depending when I get my roots dyed. Stylist will cut them if I tell her to. I do cut them about every other time for a change. They have a slight wave when longer which I like better. They kinda go with the lack of root curl I have due to the weight of longer hair. They are not very deep into the top of my head (if ya know what I mean??) I wish they were curly but they are not!! If you cut them and don't like them they sure grow back fast at least for me they do. The pics (1) in my fotki are with shorter bangs. Good Luck!!!

When I had bangs, I had to straighten them. The healthier my hair got, the curlier it got. The curlier it got the funnier my hair looked with straight bangs. On me, it looked like I had two separate hair styles. They were also a huge source of stress for me. If I got hot (and God forbid sweat), it was windy, snowing, raining, foggy ... you get the picture ... they would start to 'curl' and wing out on the sides. I basically looked like I had two fuzzy horns at the sides of my head.

Before you decide to cut your bangs, you may want to look to see where your curls start. I don't have a lot of root curl; my hair doesn't curl until it is a couple of inches long.

Ultimately it is a personal decision. If you really want to try them, I would suggest going a little at a time. I wouldn't go too short. It will give you a chance to see how your hair responds.
