Okay so ive been transitioning for the past 4 months not and cannot keep my hands out out of my hair! lol i love my new growth and the way the curls feel in my fingers, but it seems that no matter how much i moisterize it, it feels so dry :sad3:...

I haven't co washed since Wednesday.. could that be the problem? (i use ORS Olive oil deep conditioner) Also im thinking about using coconut oil.. think that'll work?

Please list any remedies as im sure im not the only one with this problem  thx

when I was transitioning I had the same problem (alot of dry hair that tangled).
I first tried doing co-washes and my hair got worse. Then I found out that the conditioner I was using had silicones in it :-?.
So once i started using a silicone free conditioner (and all silicone free products) my hair improved. And since it was easier to deal with I started washing my hair more often, like every other day sometimes every two days and my hair improved alot(now i'm 100% natural i wet my hair everyday).
Then an Indian friend of mine turned me on to coconut oil and Vatika oil, and when i started using them...hair problem solved.

    Good Luck

First, what products are you using? I would suggest clarifying your hair. As DBOO75115 said, if you are using products that have silicone that could be the problem. Use a good clarifying shampoo to get a clean slate, then use a good moisturizing deep treatment (one with no silicones if possible). I highly recommend vatika (or other coconut oil). It can be added to conditioners or used alone as a prepoo, scalp oil and hair oil. It softens the hair really well and you can find it cheap at indian grocery stores

A clarifying shampoo is just a shampoo that has the abilities of taking out all the gunk in your hair. Suave has one. If you want to clarify with what you have at home, I would use baking soda. 1 tbsp baking powder and 2 cups warm water, pour over hair concentrating on the roots, work through hair, let sit for a min then rinse follow with a deep conditioner and ACV rinse (1 tbsp apple cider vinegar, 2 cups room temp. (or cold) water). Avoid products with silicones :)

My new growth loved qhemet biologics heavy cream mixed with their hydrating balm and olive oil.

If i had to do it over, I use a good leave-in conditioner and castor oil. It fabulous.
