Well there is one salon that has a stylist who specializes in curly hair and it's 45 dollars. That is still a lot for a trim though, so maybe I will do super cuts.

I only get trims from a regular salon BUT my stylist is a Curly Girl herself and she understands that if you cut 2" it equals 3" or 4" She is careful not to be scissor happy cuz she knows if she cuts too much off I will not be back!!

That is good. I am going to tell them less than an inch I think and probably go to Supercuts.

    Any advice?
Supercuts is very cheap and tempting since it is just for a trim, less than 1/2 inch. I did a search on here and not many seem to like it.

since you are putting this question on here, and keep questioning it yourself, i think you know the answer. otherwise, you would have just walked into supercuts and not spent time here.
when my hair is pretty much the length i want, or i'd like it a little longer, my haircuts are really trims. i would never go just anywhere for a curly trim. but that is me and my hair. i assume you will not have any layers trimmed or put in, just the bottom trimmed? even then, do you want your hair to curl more or less? that gives you the answer.
all deva cuts are not $100 -- it depends on where you go for it. i think most are consistent with the area you live in.
and, you don't need a deva-inspired stylist if there isn't one you like, you need a stylist who knows and loves curly hair.
    good luck!

I guess I am scared to go just anywhere, but it is cheaper. BUT I will probably wait a bit and go to someone who works with curly hair. I found a highly recommended stylist that is only $45 dollars. I am thinking of waiting until September and trimming it then since I do not need it badly or at all right now.

Worst case scenario, it will grow back, right?

I personally would avoid SC at all costs, I've had way too many chop jobs there, even for trims. I found a stylist who I am loyal to - she charges $50 but she's also a CG who only uses CG products. I have never, ever had a bad cut from her. Sometimes you get what you pay for.

    My current HGs:
Co-wash: Suave Naturals Coconut, VO5 Strawberries & Cream
    Conditioner: Deva OneC
    Leave-in: Shea M, Deva B'Leave In
    Cremes: CIAB, pink Boots
    Gels: BRHG

CG since 2/07 and loving it!

Thanks everyone, I decided to wait until around the time college starts and do a trim and perhaps layers but we will see.

I went to supercuts today and got my hair trimmed (it needed it) and bangs. This thread got me to spring into action! hey, though, it's your hair =) I just hate to splurge, but whatever you're comfortable with.
