One side of hair curlier than the other..

One side of my hair is more wavy than curly and the other is the opposite. How do you remedy this? I am trying to use the Deva products and method and scrunch but it isn't working:( Do any of you twirl to get a more even curled look with Deva products?

I guess I feel this is one thing many curlies need to just accept. I know how it feels. One side of my head is 2c and the other is 3a. At my Deva cut, the stylist said to scrunch the wavy side and rake the curlier side. That still only does so much.

You could try just finger curling one side or pin curling.

I have the same 'problem' I have a side part and the fuller side is way curlier than the thinner side. I did a centre part yesterday, and it's still the same. I guess I've just accepted it. Curls can't always be perfect, they're crazy things!
But I agree with CHF about the raking and scrunching, you could try that.

I think a lot of us have a "lazy" side. One thing I attribute it to is using my non dominant hand to scrunch that side--if I apply product and scrunch it in with two hands. When I use my dominant hand on that side and really pay attention to it--it evens things out a bit.

I echo the other posters; I have kinkier spots than others. But its not my technique, it grows out from the root that way!.

I compensate by doing what Carmen does, also by using more or less product in certain areas. Then I live with it.

Try the twist and skip method from Frizzoff the company that makes [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Curly-Hair-Solutions-Curl-Keeper-p-28.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=curly-hair-solutions-curl-keeper]curl keeper[/buylink]. They have a video, I do this for my "underachievers" and it perks them right up. Plus you can pincurl a few.

That's putting it so kindly, LOL! What a diplomatic! I know that I would feel better having it said that way.

Same here -my fuller side has more waves. But I have noticed that the underside of my hair is straighter, which would explain why the thinner side of my side part looks less wavy. I also sleep on the less-wavy side...wonder if that has anything to do with it?
2b (with some straight under-layer, grrrrr)
Normal porosity, low elasticity, medium texture

(according to CurlGenie - HUGE surprise, I always thought I had fine hair and my stylists always agreed)

Tried CG for a summer, but it wasn't for me. I don't load up on sulfates and silicones, but I have no shame in using them when I want/need to! Currently loving LOOB.

I think it does. I used to always sleep so that the right side of my head was pressed against the pillow, and that side was significantly flatter. Of course, CG and better care have helped since then, but I now alternate which side I sleep on. I do think it makes a small difference. I wish humans were like horses and could sleep standing up so all these 2nd-day hair difficulties would just go away. xD
Thick, mostly 2c with some 3a; fine texture, medium/high porosity, and a very strange curl & wave pattern.

Started CG (properly) as of 6/31/2009.

    Rinse-out | Burt's Bees Super Shiny

Right now: growing hair past shoulder-length, looking to take decent hair picture (my avatar is my first day of CG).
