Herbal Essences TT gel

i tried it. i absolutely HATED it. grrr. left my hair hard, frizzy, and curl-less. i scrunched it in wet hair and plopped for 5 mins. it was a disaster. i had to put my hair up in a frizzy messy bun. maybe coz i'm just starting out? i'm sad.

i dont think i'm gonna try out another gel (i'm traumatized :shaking:). i'll go for mousse instead. can anyone recommend a good mousse? i used to use tresemme mousse, but since its not cg friendly, i had to stop using it.
newbie! :hello2: Started CG July 22, 2009. Wish me luck! i'm gonna need it. :sad5:
2b/c-ish? high porosity. medium-coarse texture. medium volume (3 inches). protein sensitive (i think).

The HE Body Envy gel is much better.
Good luck trying to find though, I can't seem to find it anywhere! :(

Yuck! I hated HETT gel and mousse - made my hair a sticky, tacky, frizzy, ill-formed, lackluster mess. HESMU gel is OK, but I much prefer either Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee - maybe the most popular gel around here - or LA Looks Sports Gel, also very popular here and a lot cheaper and more readily available than BRHG. I also prefer Bioterra gel from Sally's over any of the HE gels I've tried, but it's only medium hold compared to BRHG and LALSG.

Popular mousses to try are JoiWhip (salons and Ulta), Beyond the Zone Noodlehead from Sally's, and Got2B from any drugstore. Many who use them still use some gel over them for hold.
    2C/3A/3B - modified CG - fairly fine now, normal/low porosity/normal elasticity

Current Main Rotation: MG217 medicated or Aim2Health 'poos for scalp, Elucence cond., Spiral Solutions Protein & Deeply Decadent Cond., CJCCCC reg or lite,CJ Pattern Pusha,, Giovanni LA Hold Hair Spritz + lots more, sporadically

HG Method: Super Soaker + Smasters-ing, brief upside down diffusing w/360o diffuser then clips/clamps & air dry. Newly gray - stopped my henna glosses!

This was the first gel I tried too. While I didn't have as traumatizing an experience as everyone else has seemed to have had, it didn't really do much for me either. Not a lot of hold. I've been mixing mine with BRHG, since BRHG by itself is almost too strong of a hold for me. I've been getting nice results.
Pacific Northwest 3a/3b, medium all across the board, possibly porous.

    Low-Poo: Trader Joe's Refresh
Co-wash: V05 Tea Therapy Chamomile, Giovanni TTTT
Rinse-out: GVP Conditioning Balm, Yes to Tomatoes, EO Chamomile & Honey
Leave-in: Curl Junkie Curl Rehab, Sonoma Soap Company First Crush
    Deep Treatment: Jessicurl WDT
    Gels: BRHG, Biotera
Stylers/Mousses: Komaza Coconut Pudding, Curls Goddess Glaze

Yes same here. The body envy gel leaves my hair looking unprofessional with a really cheap looking hold doo. The set me up mousse does the same thing it makes my hair look like i put some aquanet on it , it doesnt add shine and doesnt promote curls and overall does not add to my hairs health, so yuck.
My type of product will leave hair looking natural, and highlight qualities like shine and definition. It will enrich my hair too. These lines here are bland and very un-nutritious for my hair.

It foams, as in suds's, when the correct leave-in conditioner is used first, or when some of the correct rinse-out conditioner is left in.

There's a couple threads around about this. One that I started a long time ago before the ingredients changed & another recently that I responded to.

I don't know why I bought another of this gel. I guess I hoped the ingredients had changed for the better & that I'd find out which conditioners it doesn't suds/foam with, but there are way too many of those to play trial & error with. Oh well, into the give-away bag it goes.
