Does rubbing conditioner into your scalp clog it's pores?

I just read Curly Girl by Lorraine Massey and a bit of Curl Talk by Ouidad. Massey (and a lot of people on this site) says that rubbing conditioner into your scalp instead of shampoo is better for it, but Ouidad says it blocks up your pores. Does it? I started the Cirly Girl Procedure yesterday and so far I feel fine.
I like work. It fascinates me. I sit and look at it for hours.

I've never had that problem, but you do have to rinse very well.
