my hair is losing a lot of its curl. i only straighten it maybe 2 or 3 times a month at the most, but just that is killing my curls, so i'm going to get rid of my flat iron all together.

i reallyyy want to get all of my natural curl back.

I seriously LOVE this thread! Every time I log on to NC.com I always check to see if this thread has been updated. Don't get me wrong I love looking at pictures of curlies, but being a wavy myself I guess I just enjoy looking at the success of other wavies more!

I figured I can't keep on hoping that people add more pictures when I haven't added my own, so here it goes!

This is one of my best hair days (I think I liked it though because it reminded me of SJP on the beginning of SATC )

I actually don't do much to them. I air-dry my hair, so all I really do is comb my bangs to the side while my hair dries – and I don't put any gel in them. When they're mostly dry I usually comb them the other direction for a bit which straightens them out a little and then just ruffle them a bit with my fingers.

Love this thread! It's great to see all the varieties of hair out there - everyone's waves look gorgeous!

Here are a couple of pictures of my hair from about a year ago (before the big chop...). I was doing the CG method at the time, and it left my hair feeling pretty happy. However, the curls would only choose to show themselves on the first day after co'ing, and everything falls flat (completely - how frustrating!) on the second day. These pics are of it on exceptionally good days, right after washing.

Not exactly sure what kind of 2 I am - thinking maybe 2b. Anyway, I gave it up for a little while, but I'm now jumping back into the CG routine with my shorter hair - hopefully I'll get the same results! :)

I love to see all the pictures!

Here is my 2's hair---right now I have the canopy which is like 2a/b and then underneath I've been developing ringlets. I'm trying to grow it since this combo is just weird to work with sometimes and has a tendency to look "messy" on top. I'm getting a lot of shrinkage with the bottom being more ringlet prone and they don't move--sometimes that feels so strange as it is like they are their own clump but not "part" of the rest of my hair. I'm more used to being able to scrunch everything together so it kind of "flows". Ah well...here's hoping it grows so I can figure out what it wants to do :)

Edit: 1st picture below is Before CG and the middle is about 2-3 weeks in--the last one (same as sig) is 3 1/2 weeks in)

hi! here's my non cg hair on a pretty bad day with bumble and bumble products...

my usual routine is to wash and condition with bumble and bumble curl concious, use aveda be curly cream, and spray with tresseme curl reactivator and air dry... i usually have better curl formation and more volume with that combo.. unfortunately i strayed from that routine today...:-?

Cassiecurls, it looks great! I don't think you need to change anything!

Here is mine, it's my first time scrunching when totally wet and then air-drying. It's also messy, after a long, hot day. :blob2: I used Garnier invisible endurance gel.

The first is with flash and the second is without.
Don't worry, it only feels kinky the first time....

38066044363806604436My hair is still about 30% thinned. I had to do this to achieve a decent flatironed style while growing it. Now that it's long enough to be presentable I am going curly.

All right, here's a BAD picture of my hair.

    Air-dryed.

    No product.

    COMPLETELY NOT CG.

Probably going to go CG after much contemplation and fighting with my hair. Very unhappy with straightening it and getting frizzies later in the day anyway. Plus, I like to highlight it, so it's damaged anyway.

I used Jessicurl back when, and got great curl formation - but I think I used too much; it seemed to be almost greasy and stringy sometimes.

    Help me! :)

    Hi LadyBee,

My hair is just like yours!! I think I am a 2a/2b. Mine gets curly and frizzy all the time in the humidity.

I just got my hair done this past Friday with the Keratin Smoothing Treatment, and I love it!! It looks great so far.

It is not poker straight - I still have my waves and body, but without the frizz. I don't have to flatiron it anymore - I just blowdry it. Today I let it air-dry, and it still looked good!! I was never able to just air-dry it before. yay yay yay!! I wish I had done this sooner.

    Good luck!!

Sorta CO with L'Oreal Ever-Pure conditioner, then followed with Organix Coconut Milk Deep Conditioner (not 'cone free, I can tell you that - WAAAY too waxy).
Scrunched in L'Oreal Gelee Riche (recommended by my stylist...eh), and Garnier Wonder Waves Mousse. Plopped for about ten minutes. Diffused for about ten.

Only used those products because that's what I have around the house. :confused1:

We'll see how it holds up throughout the day.
