Dailywavy your hair is amazing! In the before you had the type of hair girls with straight hair always try for, the pretty beach waves. And your after is how I wish my hair would look every day. Absolutely beautiful. But all of you ladies have wonderful hair so...8-)

and shamefully i admit..... i used to be one of those girls! it used to take about an hour to do it with an iron, ironically!

also for all you newbies! i thought my hair was getting great just after about a week after the frizz died down, but keep up the transition because it just keeps getting better and better!

thanks again everyone!! you all are the best!

Mine varies a lot; here are couple of typical summer side views. Precision and lack of frizz are obviously not my things! :laughing4:

Here are my waves. They are lazy and I'm starting wonder if I have too much protein in my conditioner. Here are the ingredients: Water, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetrimonium Bromide, Hydrolyzed Keratin, Polymethoxy Bicyclic Oxazolidine, Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Citric Acid.
    Any ideas?
Hair type: 2a/b, medium to fine texture, medium to high porosity (I think!)
Routine: Occasionally wash with Lavender baby shampoo. CO wash with Garnier triple nutrition conditioner, use a nickel sized blob as a leave in, scrunch out a little water, scrunch in some aloe gel (FOTE), then scrunch in some Biosilk Rock Hard Gelee (BRHG). Plop with a backwards turbie twist for 10 min - to overnight.

I am new to this site, and I really hate my curls. How do you all get your hair to be so defined and have a ringlet look to them? I've tried everything.

I actually think yours look pretty, from what I can see! If you go to the "newbies please read" section of CurlTalk, you'll see a bunch of information that gives you some idea of the different things people do. Some people do "find" ringlets they never found before; others don't. Some, like me, had a few before, and are just on an ongoing quest for more definition. In my case, definition has improved with good care, styling techniques, and use of products..... but I still generally lose some definition and gain some frizz as the day goes on (as my pictures show). I'm finally gaining enough self-acceptance to post pics that weren't taken within the first hour of styling! You'll get there.

wow! great clumping! what's your routine?[/quote]

I just scrunch my gel in upside down then right side up. Then I plop for about 5 minutes, just the time to dress. My hair seems to dry like that even without products, it just doesn't hold then. This winter it was barely wavy but that's when i started cg so i'm not sure if it was the weather or my hair's condition...

You should definitely read this as I found it incredibly helpful when I first stumbled on this board: http://dormroomcurly.blogspot.com/2008/12/style-definitions-table.html

After that, you should take a look here to learn more: http://www.livecurlylivefree.com/

anatidaephobia- thanks for the links. I just checked them out and apparently I have fine texture with high porosity. Not really sure what that means for me but I'm sure with a little more searching I will soon find out.

Wavycurly40+- thanks for the compliment. I just wish I was as happy with them. My biggest complaint is that my hair tends to have little to no curl near the root so it is flat there and poofy at the bottom. I will check out the newbie section though. Hopefully that will give me some tips.

One suggestion I've read is to find someone with similar hair -- fine texture and high porosity, not curl type necessarily -- and see what products have worked or not worked for them. It might lead you in a good direction.

Just took these today. The first one was taken in the shade and the second one was taken in partial sun. I was seeing how the color of my hair changed in different lights because of henna.
