Growing 3b hair

How often do you get your hair cut?

I've been getting a trim every time I get my colour done, so about every 8 weeks.

I really want to grow it longer (its currently sitting just below the top of my shoulders). I'm wondering how often I should get it cut? I don't want to let the ends get damaged and split.

Thoughts?

Same here, though it's been longer than that this time around. My last trim was in Oct 08 and I'm trying to wait until Oct to trim it again.

Mita, I love your hair! you give me hope that my hair will grow someday. It's almost to where yours was in your earlier pix. I'd love to have waist length hair like yours, do you shape with layers it when you trip to keep volume down too or do you just keep it all long?
Right now I get it dusted every 16 weeks or so, I think I'll wait until 20weeks this next time and then 6mos after that.

Thank you! I like it all one length, even though if I layered it might help with volume. My hair is on the thin side and I need all the volume I can get, lol. You have very pretty hair yourself.

thanks Mita, I'm still trying to figure my hair out. It seems to still be changing on me after having kids. my hair isn't super thick though I tend to get pyramid hair when it grows out and that's just not the look I want to go for LOL. So I shape it, though I'm beginning to wonder if that's going to keep me from getting the length I want?

trim only when needed. so every week or so go on a "search and destroy" (that's what i call "me time" when i stay in the bathroom looking for split or bent ends and clip them). once you notice too many to control your self, get the trim. i've noticed that since i've stopped using heat, and started to baggy my ends, i barely see any split or bent ends now. its been 3 months and i'm no where close to needing a trim

I think my last cut was in mid march. I probably won't go for another one until maybe october or november. I'm trying to grow it out and it's growing really fast now that I'm CG and I have no split ends so no real reason to get it cut.

i only trim mine when it needs it. you dont need a set time to get a trim. just look at the ends of your hair and if they start to look a little damaged then get a trim. if your hair is in good condition then you can go a long time without trimming.
