I need a hair twin!

MegalinaMegalina Posts: 3Registered Users
Is there anyone out there that's my hair twin? I have course, curly big 3B (I think) hair. I'm feeling a bit loss about CG friendly products and am hoping to get some guidance.

I usually wear my hair in a bun because I just can't deal with the, um, girth of my hair. I have a daughter though now (she's 18 months) and she rarely sees my hair down and I just feel sad about that. Anyways, here is a picture from awhile ago on one of my best pre-CG hair days ever. My hair is more shoulder length though now. Anyways, I hope my twin is out there!
Thanks!

WOW I WISH i were your hair twin! We still could be though lol. Do you have any idea on your texture and porosity? Because if you find someone w/ the same texture, porosity and curltype you can pretty much use the same products as them, with good results.

I agree. If you give more info it will be easier to find someone with hair like yours. I just started reading people's siggies and found people with hair like mine. Then I started experimenting with the products they use. It really helped me.
I have med/coarse 3a/b curls with low porosity and normal elasticity. Thank you Live Curly Live Free!!

Thanks! I'll have to read more to figure out what porosity and texture my hair is, etc. :) Without educating myself I would just guess it's coarse texture and very porous, but I'll go figure it out to be sure.

Most curlies initially think that their hair is course when infact it isn't!
This site is really useful for educating youself. It shows you how to figure out your porosity and texture:
    http://www.livecurlylivefree.com/
It has been pretty easy for me, cause I found that I have normal texture and normal porosity, and people with that hair type can pretty much get away with using most products. HTH!

Oooh! Awesome site, thank you for the link!! Okay, using that assessment method, I have Coarse texture and high porosity.

Lucky you to have normal texture and porosity! :)

From that site it seems like know the texture and porosity makes a big difference in choosing products so that's really good to know. Geez, I feel so behind in this!

Awww, it's okay, you'll soon catch up! Just start posting in the general discussion about hair and you'll get a lot more info on there and more opportunity to ask questions and contribute than on the 3b threads.

Yay!! I get a hair twin!!! I'm so excited!!

I like Come Clean. It seems to work really well. My only complaint is that it almost works too well. It almost makes my hair squeaky clean which we all know isn't such a great thing with curly hair. I had hoped I could use it once a week, but I think it will have to be a bi-weekly cleanser.
