Styling product recommendations?

I'm fairly happy with my shampoo and conditioner right now, but I still haven't found that awesome styling product that gives consistent results. I was pretty happy with HESMU gel for a while, but now it's a little too much crunch for me. Essentially, I'm looking for something kind of like a serum (still missing those cones!) that I can just smooth onto my hair and keep frizz at bay. I just want my waves to look smooth and shiny without the stickiness and crunch that gel leaves me with. Also, it has been IMPOSSIBLE to get good 2nd day hair using gel.

Any suggestions? I'm looking for products that are either protein free or very low protein.

TIA!
:love1:2c-Coarse and Porous.
Experimenting with products right now.

My routine:
Low poo for scalp
Condition using icequeen method
rake in gel at scalp
scrunch with microfiber towel
scrunch in more gel side to side
pixiecurl diffuse side to side
SOTC

My hair hates:
Upside down diffusing
Upside down Plopping
Protein

Komaza hair pudding (I think that is what it is called) will leave your hair very soft and shiny. But it definitely isn't a serum.
Oh and Kathy mack sells samples of Komaza as well as many other products, if you want to try them out before you make the plunge to buy something.

I am going to try the Mark Salon Straight Anti-Frizz Serum, it's a no silicones product, doesn't seem straightening at all from the ingredients.

    Will post results.

For a less-crunchy curl than HESMU, I do often use the Loreal Glossy Curls 'spray' gel (it does NOT spray, LOL, so don't squirt it at your head expecting a fine mist). It has the hydrogenated castor oil, I know not everybody's hair likes that, but for me so far it seems to take either oil or silicone to de-frizz.

Naturelle Hypo-Allergenic Gel. No crunch and gives great shine plus it holds down my frizzies. Sometimes I use it alone or I use it as a "mixer" with other gels. You can purchase it at Sally Beauty Supply.

Did you happen to order the Curls Gel-les'c and Goddess Glaze from KM? I'm getting great hair this summer with that combo...although the glaze is getting discontinued and I wouldn't use the gel-les'c alone :(

My absolute #1 HG for the past 6 months has been Botticelli Botanicals Flax Gelee. I swear by the stuff, hands down.

Jess-I didn't order those, but if it's going to be discontinued, I don't want to fall in love with it...

Finch-I have been meaning to try that as well, or at least try making my own. Does it leave your hair crunchy at all?

FSG does not leave my hair crunchy at all.

My hair loves protein, so I have no idea what to suggest to you. LOL.
