I'm new and my frizzy mess needs some help!

So I just discovered CG a few days ago and decided I should try it. I have 2B hair that very thin and obnoxiously frizzy. It takes a long time to dry and it absorbs product like crazy. I'll put massive amounts of mousse or gel and it doesn't feel like there's a drop of anything in my hair. The top most layer gets frizzy as do my ends, and the underside of my hair barely has a wave to it. I think a lot of my frizz comes from the fact that I wear my hair in a ponytail for most of the year for baton practice and competitions.

These are from before I got a hair cut (By a curly expert, of course!)

Today after using my new curl cream and mousse:

I understand the no shampoo, no silicones, and no sulfates thing; I just need help figuring out what products and procedures might work well on my hair.
I'd like to define/enhance my curls and reduce the frizz.
Any suggestions or anything a newbie should know?

Your hair sounds a lot like mine!...2b and a frizzy mess...

I kept posting all over the boards about my frizz problem until I discovered, my hair is protein thirsty! Once I discovered this, my frizz reduced big time.

My idea of mixing Braggs Amino Acids into my conditioner and then doing a deep treatment transitioned into me putting this stuff in my conditioner everyday. I keep waiting to see if my hair protein ODs.

I just mentioned doing that to whatsercurl today! I stopped doing the cherrylola treatment because I didn't like smelling like teriyaki marinade curdled milk all day. Does the smell from the Amino Acids go away?

Because of the smell, I went back to the Nexxus protein treatments:

I will add, that the Bragg's Amino Acids are MUCH better than soy sauce in marinate, LOL! So, it wasn't a waste.

Yeah the curdled milk think almost made my want to puke :pukeright: (seriously, these emoticons are the best).

I do one squirt of it and mix it into my conditioner. It only smells for a minute until I mix it in...and then all I smell is the conditioner smell. It is a winner for me.

When I did the cherrylola treatment I used greek yogurt from the store and it all ended up smelling like baby formula, yuck. Reminded me of when my kids were babies and would spit up on me. My hair LOVED it though...go figure.

Kctwirler how are you applying your products? Are you diffusing? Tweaking your technique could really help.

When my hair is still dripping wet I scrunch in curl cream and pantene mousse and let it air dry.

Sounds like you also need something to smooth out the frizzies. Gel while your hair is wet prevents frizz, and then perhaps use something to finish off your hair when it's dry.

KathyMack got me going on the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Curl-Junkie-Curl-Assurance-Aloe-Fix-Hair-Styling-Gel-p-941.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curl-Junkie-Curl-Assurance-Aloe-Fix-Hair-Styling-Gel]CJ Aloe Fix[/buylink] Gel, and I use just a touch of BRHG. When my hair is dry, I use a pomade to SOTC and smooth out the frizz.

It takes a while to get a good system down....
