Nixon was Pro-Life, but I would have been the exception

a$$
Nixon worried that greater access to abortions would foster “permissiveness,” and said that “it breaks the family.” But he also saw a need for abortion in some cases, such as interracial pregnancies.
“There are times when an abortion is necessary. I know that. When you have a black and a white,” he told an aide, before adding: “Or a rape.”

I swear the guy could have said that he was for the extermination of 6 million Jews and people would still love him.

Ur... who loves Nixon? Or are we talking about a different Nixon? I'm confused.

(I'm not even being a smartass, though that would typically be a safe bet. I really don't get it!!)
"And politically correct is the worst term, not just because it’s dismissive, but because it narrows down the whole social justice spectrum to this idea that it’s about being polite instead of about dismantling the oppressive social structure of power.
Fun Fact: When you actively avoid being “PC,” you’re not being forward-thinking or unique. You’re buying into systems of oppression that have existed since before you were even born, and you’re keeping those systems in place."

My last post probably wasn't very clear. There's still a lot of Nixon apologists out there, and in the last years of his life he was treated as a very respected elder statesman. It's amazing with all the crap he did that there are people who still love him.

    Ah.

I find I'm rarely surprised by the things people will overlook when it comes to politics.
