Sea salt ingredient in shampoo?

NoraCurlNoraCurl Registered Users Posts: 345
I was looking at an organic shampoo (sulfate-free :D) in my local supermarket, and it had shea butter in it but I noticed it had sea salt as an ingredient. I got confused and thought "Isn't sea salt BAD for your hair?" If it's an ingredient, though, what is it used as? Any info would be appreciated because I'm going to buy an organic shampoo for my Florida getaway.

It might be drying if you use it all the time. Like magnesium sulfate, it gives hair a "beachy" look, but it dries some people out.
    2C/3A/3B - modified CG - fairly fine now, normal/low porosity/normal elasticity

Current Main Rotation: MG217 medicated or Aim2Health 'poos for scalp, Elucence cond., Spiral Solutions Protein & Deeply Decadent Cond., CJCCCC reg or lite,CJ Pattern Pusha,, Giovanni LA Hold Hair Spritz + lots more, sporadically

HG Method: Super Soaker + Smasters-ing, brief upside down diffusing w/360o diffuser then clips/clamps & air dry. Newly gray - stopped my henna glosses!

I'll just buy Burt's Bees shampoo, then. I don't wanna take any risks. Thanks, though.

Burt's Bees Super Shiny shampoo dried my hair out a lot more than anything I've ever used with mag sulfate or sea salt - made it feel stripped, and then the conditioner wasn't conditioning enough to counteract it. I haven't used any of their other formulas except the deep conditioner - don't find it particularly conditioning either. Any of my regular rinse-out conditioners are more so. But if you're already using it and liking it, you may like the Super Shiny, too.

I've read a lot of reviews and most people said it made their hair feel stipped...I'm going to Giant tomorrow and I'll see what I think will work; something usually does.
