Seriously Frizzy Halo Hair

NyloracNylorac Registered Users Posts: 129
Ugh. My frizz is out of control. I swear it grows by the minute as the day goes on.

I have tried ACV rinses (I swear nothing happens, I noticed 0% difference in anything about my hair)
I have tried the CherryLola treatment http://www.naturallycurly.com/curltalk/showthread.php?p=917188 (and nothing happened from this too)

The top of my head is one porous frizzy mess. What else should I try :(

If you're having frizz now, I'd be careful about using products with magnesium sulfate. A lot of people find them drying and frizz producing. My current love is the rest of the CJ line, you may want to try those.

You could try some homemade FSG, it's easy and you can add whatever you want. It's a good addition into the rotation, but doesn't really have any hold (I add agave nectar, it helps but I still need more hold)

I don't see a gel listed--you may want to add that to your routine.

Thanks Kathymack. Funny that you mention magsulfate because I just ordered a sample of [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/AG-Recoil-p-24.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=ag-hair-cosmetics-recoil-curl-activator]re:coil[/buylink] on the swap threads. Since I am wavy, I am always looking for more curl enhancement.

What do you mean by gel? I am using BRHG and AOMM, is there something else I should use? I was reading about [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Curl-Junkie-Curl-Assurance-Aloe-Fix-Hair-Styling-Gel-p-941.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=Curl-Junkie-Curl-Assurance-Aloe-Fix-Hair-Styling-Gel]CJ Aloe Fix[/buylink] and that seems like it might be a good fit.

I looked at your signature and didn't see any gels listed, so thought you weren't using any. AOMM is a jelly, not a gel. For most of us, it provides moisture--but no hold. There are many fans, especially in the summer, but I don't care for the BRHG. It leaves my hair really producty. I may resort to using little bits as the summer progresses, but don't use it for now. Personally, I like medium hold gels--of which there are many. I'm a CJ fan, don't think you can go wrong with any of the products.

Magnesium sulfate can cause dryness and frizz and many can't use it on a regular basis, if at all.

Ok so I ordered some Curl Junkie samples for Kathymack (Thanks again!) but in the meantime I was desperate to get my hair to work with me at all. It is super humid in Chicago right now which makes for a frizz fest. I tried a variation on Cherrylola's protein treatment...

    I mixed together...
    Mop Mixed Green Conditioner
    Garbanzo Bean Flour
    Braggs Amino Acids

And I had it sit on my hair for an hour. This is the first time that I noticed a significant difference in the texture on the top of my head! My hair is incredibly soft and I have 0 frizz.

    I am thrilled :blob:

You may find the thread I started about the Nexxus protein treatments interesting:

My hair really loves protein, too.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have quickly learned that my hair loves protein! I have book marked your thread and will likely try some of those products. Thanks!
