And the dew point is...

70! Seriously, is there any hope at this point? I mean, it's still May for Pete's sake! I'm gonna have to just muster through the summer and hope that by fall I can figure out a good routine. Does anyone know of anything that will work for frizz in this weather?

I have been trying to simplify my routine so I have been experimenting in these dews. I have also had visitors in from out of town so we have been riding in cars with the windows down, site seeing and sitting outdoors a lot in these dews so it has been interesting to say the least.

I have added some protein to my routine because I learned I have more fine than medium strands. I have been rinsing with AO's GPB and LVPGN mixed and a little GPB as a leave-in. I then use my homemade FSG and some Aquage or BRHG on top. I plop for about 10 minutes, scrunch some more gel on the ends and plop again for about 30-45 minutes (if I can). Then I air dry the rest of the way and I DON'T TOUCH IT (hardest part).

Not only have I had minimal frizz and swelling to my corkscrew curls, but I've even gotten exceptable 2nd day hair. At one point, we were at a farmer's market and it was just too hot to leave it down so I scraped it up into a ponytail, but later, I let it down and it looked pretty good.

Hmmm ... I might have to look into something like that. I was thinking about getting some BRHG anyway since the HESMU isn't working for me.

I'll have to pass on the GPB and LVPGN right now cause I've really got to do something with the stuff I have now. Either swap it out or use it up or something. I've literally run out of room to put stuff!!

    Hard. Hold. Gel.

Seriously, it's a lifesaver in high dew points.

You can say that again, rcc. I haven't found anything that holds better then BRHG. The amount I use is directly related to the dew point. I'm a big fan.:hello2:

Dare I even hope for a no frizz day? CK doesn't seem to be helping much.

CK (or other glycering heavy things) can have an upper dew point limit, especially if your hair is on the porous side. This is why some add hard hold gels on top of CK or just by themselves at this point.

Seriously though, I am a heat and humidity wimp. There is a reason I spend most of July and August wearing updos!!

The humidity here is 78% and the dew point is 67.
And yup, what rcc said. The higher the dew point is you need more hold, the lower the dew point is you need more moisture.

    OMGOMGOMG!!! hahahahahahaaa!

I'm sorry....but I am LMAO! I thought *I* was the only one that had a 'dewpoint' fetish! There was a time in my life in my mid 20s (mid 90s) when any "hair days" i wanted to have depended upon what the dewpoint would be on any given day. SERIOUSLY. I had to check the weather channel's local forecast before making that decision!

Everyone always talked about the humidity, but that never mattered....you can have a higher humidity and a lower dewpoint and still be ok.

It's the DEWPOINT that makes it rough! LOL!
