To Cut or Not to Cut.. that is the question

I was just looking at some old pics and a couple I took a day or so ago.. I'm realizing that my hair used to have more bounce and curl when it was a bit shorter. I'm assuming the weight is dragging it down somewhat. I've kinda stopped cutting my hair (except for the *very* occasional trim) and though I love having longer hair, I'm wondering if it would be better to cut it.. It's pretty much all one length, but I am open to the possibility of layers as well. Thanks for any suggestions!

LENGTH #1: 1 year and a half ago - Just past shoulders

LENGTH #2: curren - Just past bra strap

Your hair is amazing, and so are those gorgeous eyes!

It looks lovely in all the pics, but I think I like the first one best -- your hair has a nice shape in that one.

I am having a hard time deciding because it looks so nice both lengths shown. Honestly, it looks just as beautiful both ways. I guess it depends on what kind of a change you'd like. And I agree w/ SuZen - your eyes are stunning!

Sorry I wasn't much help. I usually have a definite opinion about hairstyles but yours could go any way :)

It is a hard call. But if you like the length but want more bounce, maybe you should try just getting long layers and a little taken off the bottom. Good luck!

I would try getting some long layers cut. That might give the bounce you want.

Ditto! I'd try that first and see how you like it. You can always go shorter if you want.. You can't add length once it's gone :)

when my hair is too long, it loses its spring. I've noticed when it is just past my shoulders there is more definition and bounce.

    1st pic looks good girl!

When people like me just wished their hair grew faster, you are trying to cut it off! :o
your hair looks great both ways...it might be weighing down becoz of too much gel or perhaps the oil if you are a regular DT person. :?:
Try a mild sulfate-free shampoo once a month.
If you still want a cut, i'd suggest a V-cut, so that you have some short strands reaching just below your chin (when dry) that bounce all over your face, while the ones at the back are nice and ordered.
I got myself a step cut done some time ago and I am feeling really bad after having done it. You see, my hair is now abt 6-8" and when they curl up, the layers show out as uneven, although when they were cut, they were equally spaced! (yea...i know...I got my hair cut while it was dripping wet...and combed...people aren't experts on cutting curly hair when it is curly..are they? )
So think about it...maybe talk to people who have got layers or a V done before...and then step into the salon
    HTH!
