1000 Awesome Hair Things

CurlyEyesCurlyEyes Posts: 2,983Registered Users
A site I really like is 1000 Awesome Things. Lo, it is awesome.

So the curly wheels started a-turnin', and I figured that since there are so.many.things. to like about our hair, why not start out own?

I dunno if we can actually make it to 1000, but we might as well try.

#1000 When you think your hair is gonna look like crap, but it ends up looking great.

You know, when you throw it up in a towel, add in only a little product, air dry, no effort AT ALL - and it looks great? frizz-free spirals, bounce and movement - who cares if you can never duplicate it?

    It is still awesome.

#997- It's often said to add "personality" and liveliness.
I have 3c hair that I haven't straightened in over 5 years. It's just past shoulder length when dry, and almost waist length when pulled straight.

    Products:
    9/02/08 Went CG
05/12/09 Still CG. Cowashing with VO5 Lavender Luster. I then condition with Giovanni Smooth as Silk. Styling with VO5 Lavender Luster conditioner with my wide-toothed comb.

#992 You can go longer between dye jobs because it's harder to see the roots.

#989 Hair ties don't FALL OUT just when you need them most. Imagine, if you will, your hair straightened, leaning over a bunsen burner, and the hair tie slips out at just the wrong moment.

not that it happened to me.

#987 It's so much easier to use hair sticks!

I barely have to do anything to get it to stay up with 1 stick.

#986 You can trim it yourself...and if it's not quite even...no one knows!

#978--You can use it to hide your face and/or avoid eye contact with people when you need to. In my case, when patients at work are staring angrily at me because they've been waiting in the waiting room for too long, I just shake my hair forward a little and go on with my work!

    970. 'Playing with your hair' can actually manage to sound semi-scientific if you explain it in specific terminology. :)

    969. (for loose curly hair) going from straight, european beauty hair to curly, exotic hair is a breeze and vice versa.

    968. (for really curly hair) you dont have to worry about flat lifeless looking hair. even if you straighten it, you still get volume at the roots
