Republican Senator Arlen Specter defected to the Dem party today...yeah! That makes 59. Just one more and the Dems are filibuster proof. How's that Franken/Coleman race going in Minnesota anyway?

Polls are showing that even Republicans want Coleman to give it up. Let's go, Franken!

Of course they do. He's always been a moderate, and very often votes with the Dems. Plus, the Dems need him to make the senate filibuster-proof. The Reps have been filibustering like crazy to keep Obama from filling his cabinet.

A friend posted a pic of Norm's office on his Facebook page. The office is for lease, so maybe Norm has seen the writing on the wall.

It's in the courts. Coleman's not made any progress recently and he's also not giving up.

I heard someone say something about June. :dontknow:

he should be ashamed of himself for leaving the people of Minnesota with only one senator.

Something to thank Bush and Cheney for, finally. 8 years of their policies, Republicans are turning Democrat and the Dems went from a minority to a majority.

Well, considering he went into the recount with a lead, and came out of it with a loss, I imagine he figures he can still pull out a miracle.

From the head of the GOP -

Conservative host Rush Limbaugh said Tuesday he isn't sorry to see Arlen Specter leave the GOP — and that many Republicans wish the Pennsylvania senator would take a few others with him when he goes.

"A lot of people say, 'Well, Specter, take [Sen. John] McCain with you. And his daughter [Meghan]. Take McCain and his daughter with you if you're gonna…" he told listeners, dissolving in laughter.
"…..It's ultimately good. You're weeding out people who aren't really Republicans," he said.

I'm neither a rep or dem so I could careless, but from what I've read about Specter he seems like weak punk that didn't have any backbone whatsoever so it's only natural he'd navigate towards a those with that certain mindset:laughing3:

Truth be told though, I think our government runs best when the prez and Senate are from different parties. I hope the Dems don't abuse this power.

He started out a Dem, though, and switched to Rep, so was he navigating "towards a those with that certain mindset" back then too?
