Bowl type diffuser recommendation?

curlypearlcurlypearl Posts: 11,983Registered Users Curl Connoisseur
What bowl type diffuser would you recommend and where should I buy it? I have a Conair diffuser but I want the bowl type. If it has a dryer attached, that's fine too since my dryer is ancient. Thanks in advance for recs!

I use this one. It came with a few different things and has some good features. It helps with clumping too.

I got one at Sallys-except for the intermittent hair pulling it's fine. I am sure it was just bad plastic molding. I ended up buying the one through curlmart and that is fine.

I had to replace my diffuser last week and I found a nice one at ULTA. It's a Revlon brand ionic bowl diffuser. I like it much better than the Conair one I replaced because the bowl is deeper and holds more curls inside.

I agree with misspam. I just bought this one last week from Ulta. I actually have to say I like it more than my deva one. It is easier to use, and it does not leave me with any frizz.

I use this one from Sally's.

Bowl is really deep and holds lots and lots of curls. The red insert (tourmaline) does eliminate the frizz. Cannot be happier for $7

I now know my texture/porosity!! (TY, Tiffany!) Medium texture; ends on a porous side; new growth - normal porosity.

That is the one that catches my hair and pulls!! It must just be a molding problem on the plastic but it annoys me to no end! And it will only catch 1 hair and pull it out. I should have brought it back but I got lazy.

Weird...I've never had that happen with mine.

I am sure it's just a fluke. About every 3 months I pull it out and use it only to remember the hair catching issue.

Thanks everyone! I'm spending a fortune but looking better than I ever did with straightened fried hair. My hair so much happier.

Yes! That's it! Thanks for doing that. It's hard to tell from the photo, but at the base of the bowl there are several rows of tiny holes that direct some airflow to the side. It's not too much where your curls are getting blown around, but just enough to increase the drying area. I like this diffuser a lot.

I just bought this, but it totally doesn't fit my dryer. Which do you use? It'd be super helpful to know the model. TIA!
