So my plan tonight was to blend a dab of the Garnier Bold It putty I got at Dollar tree with my Curl FX gel-I was hoping the putty might get a backbone to the curl fx. I squeezed the putty in my hand-it looked kind of toothpaste-y. I mixed it with the curl fx-I noticed some curds, but figure they would melt in my hair. Yeah, no so much. I ended up fine-tooth coming to make sure I got all the nasty out-I'll deal with limp, frizzy, blah hair tomorrow, but I wanted the nasty out.
I guess there was a reason it was at Dollar Tree.
So..um...I kinda fell off the CG wagon. I got sick of long curly hair about 6 months ago. I currently have a short a-line, which I flat iron, although I also wear it wavy sometimes. I still use sulfate-free poos (I'm madly in love with the Bodyshop's rainforest moisture) and silicone free conditioners.

I have had times when I used a new product and my hair instantly felt yucky. I hate that and the next 3 days of bad hair...always a bummer. Sorry that happened :(

Some products aren't meant to be mixed, no matter the cost. Did you try the Dollar Tree product by itself or with other products? Oh...and if products curdle in the hand, they most likely will not melt together when applied to the hair.

I have had the same experience with more costly products...some just can't ever be mixed...booo...

I know that now. ;) The putty said it gave a Matte finish, so it went into the land of hair product rejection known as the trash.
