Help! New CG, No idea where to start or if i am doing it right!!

ChiggletChigglet Registered Users Posts: 12
I've just started CG but i am not sure if i am doing it right.
I rinse my hair thoroughly, and than evenly distribute my conditioner through ( Organic Care Colour Shield Conditioner ) than i comb my hair with my fingers while its wet, pull-and-scrunch some Vo5 Mega Hold Styling Mousse through and than scrunch dry with a micro fiber towel ( no idea how but this helps reduce frizz). I do this every two days. Does anyone have any advice on CG that i can incorporate into my hair-routine? Also tips and some cheap starters products I could try would be helpful!!!

Thanks :) :tongue7:

That sounds like a pretty good routine :) I'm just wondering about the Organic Care Conditioner. I recently bought one and realised it was packed with silicones. You can read about them here: http://healthycurls.awardspace.com/cones.html.

'Cones make your hair appear healthy and shiny but they're basically suffocating your hair from moisture if you don't wash them out with a shampoo with sulfates or cocamidopropyl (or coco) betaine. Trust me, it took me a looong time to understand everything about silicones but I hope I can help you =]

Here are some cheap conditioners in Australia that are silicone free:
Australian Organics Conditioners (You can get them at Coles)
VO5 Moisture Milks Conditioners (I saw them at IGA)
Pears MoisturisingCare Conditioner (Great for moisture because curly hair drinks up moisture! You can find them basically anywhere).
Those are the only ones I can think of right now. I'm so sorry to judge what condish you're using but this info helped me and I'm trying to help anyone I can =]

    Good Luck!! xxx

    • Make sure none of your products have ingredients that end with cone, conal, xane, or sulfate.

I think it's actually conol, not conal...

(Johnson&Johnson No More Tears Shampoo when need help with build-up), Suave Naturals condish, leave some in, LaBella Gel, then out the door!

Hi! Hope you're not having too much trouble finding a product. I might try out Australian Organics conditioner. I'm looking for feedback on the aus. organics condish on my thread so if anyone else know about it can they comment on my thread? Once I try something and like it I'll tell ya bout it! I know this product ingredients stuff is so frustrating!
