KCCC pulling roots down, losing volume?

I've been experimenting with [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] ad KCNT alot. I really like the curls and definition I'm getting. I feel like my hair is finally getting enough moisture! On the negative side it's also pulling the roots down more than most product usually does and I don't have as much volume as usual. I have a denman-like brush that I have used in the past. Does anyone think that would help? Am I perhaps not distributing well? Should I rake it through? I usually always scrunch.

that's a pic in my fotki. the pw is whim.

TIA!

First thing first, your hair is beautiful!

I've been using [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink] for nearly a year now, and I've found that I get better root lift and overall volume if I apply it to hair that is wet, but not dripping. This means blotting the hair with a towel to remove excess water before applying the styling product. For me, this cuts down a little on drying time and the amount of product I use, in addition to letting my curls spring up better before "freezing" as the gel dries, if that makes any sense.

Also, make sure you're not using too much of it, because it's very rich. Try cutting back on the amount you use and see how that works.

Thank you! I always wished my hair was as curly as yours! Also it's such a pretty shade. Do you use henna?

I think I will try applying KCNT, scrunch out some moisture, and then apply [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink]. That would definitely help with drying time too. The freezing effect is really weird, but I feel that by the time my hair is completely dry I've lot a lot of the crunch... Is that the same for you? I've also been layering over with BRHG, especially since it's been rainy here. I like getting a little crunch, as long as it can be scrunched out, because then my hair looks better the next day.

I'll try, but I don't want frizzy hair either. I started out using too little and my hair was rather frizzy. I actually feel like my hair is finally getting enough moisture. I'll make sure to use my nonsulfate poo however. And I like to switch up the products sometimes.

In my experience it always did that (in addition it always ended up poofy by days end). I far prefer the Boots to [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink], its similar enough but "cleaner".

Thank you. I do use henna, but I recently ran out and needed a quick fix, so I used the Clairol semi-permanent dye in Cinnaberry (something like that), and I really like the richness of the color. :happy10:
