Hairstyles/Updoes???

sparklysparkly Posts: 37Registered Users
I'm looking for ideas to style my hair. Mainly updos and styles of that sort.
My hair is I guess below shoulder when wet. I live in Florida and there is no way I can wear it down.
It will get three to five times as big within an hour of being out and it will make me feel like I'm suffocating. :sad1:

So, does anyone have any ideas what to do with hair that doesn't make you look like a little girl but still sexy/classy?

I just checked out a bunch of her vids. FABULOUS! I can't wait to have long hair again so I can try some of those styles. I really like the BlackHawk and the Challah Bread Updo. Reminds me of a style I used to rock. Thanks for the link.

Oh, thanks for all your suggestions.
The girl from the youtube link shows in one of her videos the 'black geisha' but only the finished thing. Not how she is doing it.
Does anyone have any idea if there is a video with instructions on how to do it?

Hey, I do YouTube videos and I did a faux hawk with a pompadour hairstyle that is nice for day or evening http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tlfp1iPDvgs

I havent seen a video on how she does the "Black Geisha" look.

I went to Urban Bella in Atlanta and they did dry twists all over in this lady's hair and did the cutest updo and used little cute hair ornaments (nothing little kid looking). It was really classy and nice. Im thinking about doing that myself.

Girl, I lived in Miami so I feel ya on the heat and humidity.

I don't have tutorials but there are quite a few in my album.

My current favorite is old school french braid that ends in a flexi-8 bun:
