That depends on what the meaning of "as well" is. :D

To me, it all depends on what your current variables are. Since you mention the season, I assume you're concerned about weather changes. To me, the weather's not a problem until the dew point get significantly different than what I'm currently experiencing.

I won't try to change up my routine until the dew point is above 30*F, and that probably won't include switching out the Conditioning Balm, but hey, who knows? :) HTH!

I live in SoCal and my dew points have been over 40 for weeks and weeks and I still love the GVP conditioning balm. I'm gonna keep using it as long as I can.

I love it any time of the year but only use it for co-washing.

I love it in any dewpoint. I sometimes even use some as a leave-in, though that might be too much during the spring and summer, it's great for the winter.

I find it a bit too overconditioning once spring rolls around for everyday use.

I already rotate it with other condish because I got overconditioned with it alone so that could be true.

My head is too full of curly girl acronyms. I read this as GPB (the Aubrey Organics protein conditioner) and got all concerned. Sometimes this is all too much for me.

Haha I had a moment like that last week. I had done a DT with JCWDT for the first time and was telling my mom about it. She asked me what it was called and I realized I only knew the acronym and not the full product name :)

Hahaha, Jess, that cracks me up! Sometimes I also find myself mentally searching for the actual name of what I usually call AVG, or GPB, or DT, or GDLI, [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Kinky-Curly-Curling-Custard-p-778.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=kinkycurly-curling-custard]KCCC[/buylink]...and the list goes on.

GVP is from Sally's right? I've looked for it at two Sally's stores and neither one had it.

    Thanks,
    Sherry

It is from Sally's, for sure, and a lot of Sally's can special order it for you if you ask (not all do this). Walgreens also has a biolage knock-off that is similar to the GVP, I believe it is called Bioinfusion Conditioning Balm.

This condish detangled awesomely, gave me clumps, and tons of moisture and shine............the first time I used it.

After that it was all downhill. It stills detangles, but now it isn't moisturizing at all. Infact, I think it might be drying my hair out!

I'm jealous of you all. :(

Thanks, onethousandcurls (love your name!). I was just in Walgreens to get the Vitamin brand conditioner that's buy one get one free this week. When I use those up, I'll check Bioinfusion. Is it CG?

    Thanks!

What exactly is the title on the GVP Conditioning Balm bottle? I was in Sally's looking at the GVP products (hooray-the one near me has just started letting non-professionals inside!), and I didn't see it. But I wanted to check the name in case I just was missing it when I was looking. Thanks!

No, I'm not rotating. I could try it, but not with a protein condish. (protein sensitive)

I'm protein sensitive too but I find if I rotate the GVP with AOHR or Trader Joe's Nourish I'm fine. They have such little protein that once or twice a week or so they give me the boost I need and keep me from getting overconditioned by the GVP.

I keep hearing these rave reviews about the GVP Conditioning Balm. For me, it just hasn't worked that well -- okay, but not great results. I finally just gave up on it and have been experimenting with other conditioners. It's currently at the back of my hair product shelf.

I wonder if it's because Propylene Glycol (a humectant) is the second ingredient, right after water. Where I live the dew points have typically been in the twenties, and in the low thirties on a good day! But then I see other dry climate curlies (like Reddish Rocks) who love this stuff. Any idea why it's not working for me?

Hmmmm....maybe I'll break it out and give it another chance tomorrow.
    Dry climate
2C/3A, fine texture, high porosity, medium-low density

    For me, desert climate+porous hair+CG=inconsistent results! :-(

I bought the GVP Condish Balm and tried it for the first time this week. It was amazing! No conditioner has made my hair feel that way, right away, in the shower, in ages. It felt immediately smooth and very slippery, the tangles fell right out, and I had a really good hair day using it. I also bought and used a Denman brush (Sally's shopping day, what can I say, and it was only $7). I think I need practice but I got curling (well, waves for me) almost to my roots, which is unheard of.
I'm wondering if the GVP will continue to work so well for me and I'm about to go in the shower soon to see. If it keeps working, it's going to be my favorite CO. --I didn't use it for washing, I used my VO5, but used it for detangling and as a leave-in with LA Sports/blue gel. I had very good hold even in horrid wind, hair was soft after SOTC. But last night (second day hair), my ends seemed very tangly.
2-something? Coarse, medium underneath. Mid-back. On CG since 5/9/07.

Detangle and leave-in: Sally's GVP Conditioning Balm -- I found my HG CO!

    Gels: Homemade FSG, Eco-styler
Plus: SOTC or smooth with camellia oil, JC Nourish & Shine
