HELP!

I started full CG two weeks ago and I have loved it so far. my hair just soaked up all the moisture that it had been missing for so long. But after two weeks, it has suddenly gotten super frizzy and the curls don't hold as well.

I don't know what has happened!! I know that they warn about your hair being frizzy at the beginning but is this what is happening? Or is there something wrong with my routine or the products I am using? right now i am using the suave naturals coconut conditioner along with the herbal essence totally twisted styling gel for hold. oh and I also use some of the VO5 strawberries and cream cond. for a co-wash.

If someone has any suggestions or can explain it that would be amazing. Thank you!!
Hair Type: 3a/3b and LOTS of it! Hair color ranges from dark brown to light brown with blonde and red highlights thrown in from the sun. haha I've never had two people call it the same color :P

Started CG 3/1/09 and I am loving it! I can't wait to see the results after a couple of months. I've become a curly girl fanatic :love7:

Is it super soft and fly-away? How often do you co-wash?

You may be over-conditioned. Try cutting back on co-washing (like every-other day instead of every day) and maybe do an ACV rinse.

If that doesn't work, it may be the V05. One of the ingredients (s. chloride) is a softening agent. If you're prone to overconditioning it could be a problem. I wouldn't avoid it until you know for sure it's a problem though.

Yes, my hair's still really soft (I think this is what you mean?) and I co-wash every day. for the past couple of days I haven't been using the VO5 so I'm not sure that's the problem, but the over-conditioning might be...what is the best way to tell if this is the problem? Is the purpose of the ACV rinse to wash out any build-up I might have? I have heard that it can be a bit drying, even though I'm not really worried about this

Also, if I want to try the ACV rinse, what is a good method to use, and once I have done it, can I put conditioner back in my hair or should I wait till the next time I wash my hair?

The ACV rinse is acidic, which your hair is naturally, so it helps close the cuticle. If you don't do it more than once a week or so you shouldn't dry out your hair. Try mixing 2 tbsp. ACV with 2 cups of water and just pour it all over your hair. You can leave it in if the smell doesn't bother you, or you can wait a couple minutes then wash it out. It's fine to put conditioner back in after you ACV.
