DC/MD/VA Spring 2009 Meetup....it's that time again

eccentric_kurlzeccentric_kurlz Registered Users Posts: 4,151 Curl Connoisseur
Time to have another meetup ladies!!!!! :)

I'm thinking early May. This gives us time to plan, look into places, and get as many folks as possible in attendance. :) Also, to decide if we want something during the day, or evening; weekend or weeknight.

Of course, all locations must be metro-accessible.

ETA(3/17/2009):

I'm updating everything in this post so that everyone can see it when they open the thread. So if you see the same information repeated in subsequent postings, it's because I've copied/pasted from them. Just want to make sure it's visible.

I'm posting some potential meeting spots. All very different, but all nice locations. Not too expensive, and all metro accessible. I'm providing their websites so you can view their menus.

I've created a poll to include the options I've thought of. I've added more places, and removed Mahogany since they open later in the evening, as I'm thinking we should do an early gathering. Maybe between 11am-3pm on one of the Saturday dates(May 16th or May 23rd).

Polls will close May 1. Updated information will be posted here, and PM'd to each person scheduled to attend.

Vote for restaurant location here:

Yes! Girl, yes! I have been waiting for this since I joined and missed the last one. I work in Dupont Circle, so I'm familiar with a lot of places there and U Street, and the others as well. Just let me know! I and my hair will be there!!

Coolbeans!!!! Three so far. I think I've saturated enough of the hairboards informing everyone of the gathering.

I'll probably do it again a few weeks leading up to it. It would be nice to have more than the, I believe 7, we had last summer. We had a good time. :)

i think these are all good locations. busboys & poets could get a little crowded, but we could also call ahead and reserve that backroom.

I missed the gathering last year, too! Sounds like good times! I've been to a few of the places listed--but I'm always up for experiencing somethin' new! By then, I should have a few of my first henna treatments. ;)

BTW--I'm not a frequent poster, but I am familiar with most of the names. LOL, my boyfriend is definitely gonna smile & shake his head when I tell him about this!

Yay! I'm sure you'll walk out of it with a few new friends. :) Everyone I've met have been awesome. :)

Everyone, please don't forget to participate in the polls in the first posting. It helps to make the decision process easier as for the dates and locations.

I was waiting for you to show up Deedles. :) The other date is for the 16th, not the 15th. So hopefully, you'll be able to make it should the majority vote for the 16th. Either way, hubby's graduation is WAY more important. :D Congrats to him!!!
