To the person who PMed me today...

...don't. I won't open them. I previously asked you not to PM me; this is the 2nd time you have disregarded that initial request. I'm not interested in anything you have to say. Consider us even, though I've done nothing truly comparable to you.

You should be ashamed of yourself.
OK, I admit it.....I'm an alias! I wasn't born with the name Honeycurls!

If you are being harassed, Honeycurls, you should let one of the moderators know via PM.

Thanks, medussa, but I'm not being not harassed, per se. Not currently, anyway. This person has sent 3 PMs after being asked not to PM me, but there was a long break between #2 and #3. I don't think it'll be a problem, but if it continues, I'll be sure to go through the customary channels. Something tells me this person will contact a mod or Gretchen anyway.

Can we block PMs from people?

If not, why not just them one saying what you said on here, it's obvious that they'd read it. Or, you could have just ignored it and moved on?

I understand that if it's harrassment, you'd want mods to know, but I am not understanding why you'd bring it up here for all to see.

    Not being snarky, just curious.

You can block PMs. It's under "User CP", just use "edit options".

Seems to me that a thread like this is just to be inflammatory. It's a power play on the part of the thread originator, to show the mysterious stalker that she isn't reading the PMs, just in case the stalker didn't realize it.

    From Michael Berg:

Every person has a unique connection to the Creator that can never be extinguished, and every person has a great soul that can manifest important things in our world. To make a person feel less than they are because of something inside themselves, be it faith, race, or sexual orientation, is the greatest sin of all."

I don't know what you are talking about since we aren't talking about RCW. I don't have any recollection of RCW posting a thread like this, but here is the original thread that Honeycurls posted on this topic.

Yup, you did. Although, you weren't calling out a particular person, RCW. You just told the people who sent you PMs trying to save your soul that they should try it with someone else, 'cause you're not interested.

OK...I recall that. I was trying to save some fingers, because I had gotten some LONG and heartfelt proselytizing PM's and I felt bad that they were wasting their time.

LOL! I love it! Spider...the only one to tell it like it is!! I appreciate your honesty, Spider!

To the NC.com self-appointed ethics police...luckily I couldn't care less what you think. Your collective assessment of my motives is of no interest to me. RCW...you have GOT to be kidding me!!! GTFOH! Pot? Meet Kettle. Inflammatory? You wrote the handbook on that.

This person did something inexcusable and used the board to wrongly publicly (and via PM) inflame some very raw emotions at my expense once upon a time. This is something I will never forget, nor will I ever forgive. I actually lost sleep over it. At that time, I did seek Gretchen's assistance in dealing with the situation, which she quickly diffused, and I was able to debunk the ridiculous allegations of the PMer. If I wanted to be truly inflammatory, I would have told THAT whole story here, complete with names.

The quickest way to douse these thread fires is to remove the fuel. With each "ITA with so and so" posting, this thread is bumped right back up to the top of the page. So, it's difficult for me to believe that it's that distasteful. Spider nailed it. I'm sure the PMer will inevitably satisfy some of your curiosities by looking to some of you for support, thereby revealing the identity. Be patient.

Oh, and BTW...good one nynaeve77. Yet another RCW Pot-meet-Kettle moment. Love it!!

I don't really care WHO is PMing you...why add the fuel to the fire by posting this all over again? Especially when in the last thread you thanked someone for telling you how to block PMs?

I don't think that it's distasteful, but I do think that it's childish. If this person bothers you THAT much, ignore them and let it go. Again, I am not being nosey, I don't care who it is...I just don't understand the WHY of it all when you have the tools to ignore, and if Gretchen was aware of it before, why not just go directly to her again?

There really was no reason to put it here on the board other than to get responses from others who are in no way involved and to draw attention to yourself.

I think you're blowing what I said out of proportion. I just thought it was a particularly trivial reason for people to gang up on a poster, and ganging up on a poster really only works if that poster is offline. I did not make any suggestions or demands regarding others' behavior, so I don't know where the "board police" thing comes from.

Lots of people here are criticizing what the OP wrote. Why can't I state my mild annoyance with what they wrote? And you may (or possibly may not) remember that I have a reason to sympathize with people experiencing PM craziness.

I think it's interesting that her other post like this one (what, like 8 months ago?) got a VERY different overall reaction.

Could be this one is just getting more negative feedback because its' the second time the OP has posted it, but I still find it interesting how much general opinion changed, from "you go girl"/good spirits to condemnation for essentially the exact same thing.

I guess it could make a little bit of sense. If you're given assistance on how to proceed - PM a mod, deny PMs from the offender, etc, and then post a pretty identical post later... well, you've already been given advice on how to handle it the first time, and people will be less forgiving in round 2 perhaps.
