Another Gel-less Success Story!
in Hair Type 4
I have been lurking here for awhile and just recently started posting even though I have been into hair boards for about 2 years. I have always been a gel lover but I have found
that it makes my hair look the way I want but doesn't give me the soft touchable hair I crave. So I was lurking at another hair site when I found this recipe:
9 oz of conditioner
3 oz of setting lotion
1 oz of glycerine (I used long aid activator gel instead because that's what I have and it has loads of glycerin)
1 oz of oil (I used apricot kernel oil)
10 drops of eo (I didn't use any)
Put all the ingredients in a bottle and shake to blend...
Add water to thin it out if you want to use it as a spritz.

I tried it yesterday with no leave-in and I had the best hair day I have had in months and the first for this year. My hair is soft, my curls are amazing, and my hair is bouncy! :wav:
I found my first hg and I am so excited to be able to use just one product to get the look I want! I wanted to share this because I am hoping that it works well for others - especially my ladies who like to use conditioner as a leave-in.

Setting lotion is something that is mostly used for roller sets. I used Lottabody. They type I used is concentrated but I didn't dilute it before mixing.
Description:
Want bouncing, beautiful body? Want unbelieveably rich, silken texture?...Long-lasting sets? Get it all with Lottabody! Helps the hair actually remember the set...even days later. For all hair, naturally straight or relaxed, normal, or color treated. Leaves no dulling film, wont flake, wont discolor even with repeated use. Dries fast! Special conditioning ingredients become bonded to the hairshaft to help overcome porosity and seal split ends.
Ingredients
D&C Red No. 33, Dmdm Hydantoin, FD&C Blue No. 1, Fragrance, Methylparaben, PEG 40 Lanolin, Polyquaternium 11, Polysorbate 20, Propylparaben, Water.
