Toilet paper

Well here's a weird question for you all.

What brand of toilet paper do you use? I hate Charmin because it's too linty. My parents use Scott but to me that's like using wax paper, yuck. We've been using Cottonelle but DH thinks it's too linty too. What do you use?

ETA: See my post #18 for further information on the linty issue.

Angel Soft... I like the mega roll pack, it lasts a long time.

We use Scott tissue. My parents raised us on it because they hate Charmin and other linty toilet papers.

Scott regular (not the soft version), because I hate dingleberries that soft papers leave behind.

Its not a weird question....my BF and I get into this debate all the time. He's a die hard Northern user....I perfer Angel Soft. For me....northern is too soft and linty. Angel Soft is like the perfect balance of softness without lint.

Oh...and when I'm at my BF's house...I have a tub of flushable wipes in his bathroom (i use them at my house too) but that solves the lint issue for me...lol.

I prefer Scott or even that stuff from Walgreens...Big Roll or whatever. My sister has teased my like, "Damn, why not just use newspaper." lol But I can't stand that super soft and linty toilet tissue. Seems like I would use a third of one of those rolls in one sitting, because I didn't quite feel like it was doing the job. Ugh. The cheap stuff is good enough for my azz.

ETA: This is OT, but who else gets grossed out by the Charmin commercials with those damned bears? The one were the little bear has little bits of toilet tissue stuck to his azz after wiping with one of the "other" brands afterwards is just too much. Nasty.

I like the Charmin in the red package myself. Please tell me why TP is so expensive? It's like $7+ for 24 rolls.

Angel Soft for me too. Either that or Aldi's premium T.P.

But what I don't know is how you know it's linty?

Cottonelle. Almost every other brand gives me troubles with my lady parts.

I guess I am in the minority here. I like the Charmin Ultra soft, haven't really noticed the linty problem or dingleberries for that matter!:dontknow:

But I agree about the price... when you think about the purpose the cost isn't justified, but I guess the same could be said for tampons!

But what I don't know is how you know it's linty?

Well, ha ha, guess I should have explained more...

Two reasons. One - there's always a lot of TP lint/dust on the paper holders when I clean the bath. Two - my DH has had a persistent ear problem. The doctors (he's seen three specialists) thought he had a serious fungal infection on his ear drums and have been treating him with anti-fungal drops since last August. Finally this third doctor did a culture and it just came back negative. Why they didn't do that sooner is a real head scratcher. So the doctor's only thought now is that it's TP from him cleaning the water out of his ears after the shower. Apparently it looks like TP lint and they have no other ideas.

I gave DH a soft cloth to use and want to find a less linty TP so he doesn't just grab TP anyway. He's a HUGE creature of habit.

Charmin ultra strong. Soft, but not linty, and it doesn't tear easily.

I'm sitting here thinking the same thing...what is the lint all about? I can't stand the thin TPs because you have to use a huge strip just so it doesn't leak through.

I buy whatever is on sale, but not the super cheap stuff. Usually some form of Charmin, Cottonelle, or Angel Soft.

I like Charmin, but one of my biggest pet peeves is those double-triple-giganto rolls they all sell. Those don't fit on my holders. My house is too old! There is only one store in town that sells regular sized rolls of any brand, but thankfully it is the brand I like.

Scott. It lasts forever and doesn't leave dingleberries.

Um... is it bad if I don't even know what brand I use? I actually just bought some tonight on my way in to work b/c we ran out at home so I'll have to check on my break and see what I got. I haven't noticed an issue with any particular brand and just buy whatever is cheapest at the time.

Because it leaves fluff behind after you wipe.

    I use Scott.

Angel Soft is less linty than Northern?! I'll have to try it. I usually buy Northern because it's the only one around here that isn't so linty. Hmmm.....

I did get a bad batch of Northern that would just tear through the middle, I called and got a coupon for a free pkg.

After that, I decided to try the new Charmin Ultra Strong. It seemed less linty. My MIL uses Ultra Soft Charmin and I hate all the lint and dingleberries! :angry5:

    Cottonelle.

Angel Soft's OK. Used to like Northern but too linty and pill-y (dingleberries!) nowadays. Don't like Charmin - linty, pill-y and too soft - it provides no 'traction', LOL. I prefer even Scott over it, even though it's single-ply.

Never tried the Aldi store brand, but might be worth checking out as I haven't found much of anything of their's that I don't like.

I like Charmin and Angel Soft. I've tried the Scott brand that they sell in bulk at Costco. It's not soft enough for me.
