Help!!! Lost my shine.

I've been CG for 2 weeks. I use Suave green apple for co-washing, and Biolage Conditioning balm to condition. I co-wash 2ce a week.

My hair was shinier before I started.

What am I doing wrong?

It sounds like you have product build-up. Try using a castile soap (they are made only of saponified oils) and are very gentle for the hair. I recommend using Trader Joe's Pure Castile Soap or Dr. Bronner's Magic Castile Soap (which you dilute with water). Both can be found at your local Trader Joe's market, but the Dr. Bronner's can also be found at your local health food store.

Try to wash your hair with the soap at least once a month to get rid of any buildup you get with the conditioner.

    Staples (used in many ways):
    Coconut milk
    Castor oil
    Coconut oil
    Shea butter

Remember that silicones add shine to your hair. As your hair adjusts and gets healthier, your shine should come back.

If it's looking kind of gunky, you can also add some lemon juice to your conditioner.
