Calling Conditioner Experts!

Does anyone know of a daily conditioner with ingredients similar to [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Weekly-Deep-Conditioning-Treatment-p-106.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-weekly-deep-conditioner-treatment]Jessicurl's Weekly Deep Conditioning Treatment[/buylink]? I've been using the WDT as a rinse-out and my hair really loves it (due to the low amount of oil, I'm sure), but I'm not sure I'll be able to continue to do this for very long without becoming overconditioned. The WDT might continue to work fine as long as I don't leave it on very long, but I'm thinking if I could find a daily conditioner that has more butter than oil similar to the WDT, that might be a better choice for regular use. Any suggestions?

WDT Ingredients:
Water infused with Lemongrass, Nettle, Burdock, Kelp, Marshmallow Root, Horsetail, Basil, Bay Leaf, Oregano, Rosemary, Peppermint, Sage and Thyme, Behentrimonium Methosulfate and Cetearyl Alcohol, Shea Butter, Avocado Oil, Cocoa Butter, Lecithin, Aloe Vera Powder, Diazolidinyl Urea (and) Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate, Fragrance.

rudeechick started a thread about this ingredient that is great for detangling and SBB also looks for this ingredient as it's very good for our hair! All of the EO,CJ and, JC conditioners have it. I ordered the Chamomile and Honey one it doesn't have Butters but it has coconut which is one of my new loves, and of course Honey far down on the list so it shouldn't be an issue right now:)

I haven't tried it yet it should be here today! We have a lot of good reviews about the other EO condish. Jilipoo is one that loves it, don't remember which one. It might be the Rose Geranium. I know you can get it at Retail locations but don't remember where, sorry. Hopefully someone will else will chime in but it has been discussed in the Product Reviews.

EO Wild Lime & Ginger Hair Repair: This is a Hair Repair but it doesn't have Avocado Oil like the WDT and 1 butter not 2 so it may be a little lighter.

EO Organic Herbal Blend (Purified Water, Organic Chamomile* (Matricaria Recutita), Organic Aloe Vera* (Aloe Barbadensis), Organic Calendula* (Calendula Officinalis), Organic White Tea* (Camellia Sinensis), Organic Licorice (Glycyrrhiza Glabra) Root*, Organic Comfrey* (Symphytum Officinale), Organic marshmallow (Althaea Officinalis), and Organic Dandelion (Taraxacum Officinale)], Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerin, EO Essential Oil Blend, Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Retinyl Palmitate (Vitamin A), Mango (Magnifera Indica) Seed Butter, Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius) Oil, Amino Acids, Behenalkonium Chloride (and) Cetyl Alcohol, Guar Hydroproxypyltrimonium chloride, Disodium EDTA, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol, Potassium Sorbate.
    *Certified Organic
No synthetic fragrances, only pure essential oils.

    Chamomile & Honey
EO Organic Herbal Blend [purified water, organic chamomile* (matricaria recutita), organic aloe vera* (aloe barbadensis), organic calendula* (calendula officinalis), organic white tea* (camellia sinensis), organic licorice (glycyrrhiza glabra) root*, organic comfrey* (symphytum officinale), organic marshmallow* (althaea officinalis) and organic dandelion* (taraxacum officinale)], behentrimonium methosulfate (and) cetearyl alcohol, EO Essential Oil Blend, honey, coconut (coccus nucifera) oil, amino acids, cetearyl alcohol (and) polysorbate 60, behenalkonium chloride, cetyl alcohol, guar hydroxypropyltrimonium chloride, disodium EDTA, phenoxyethanol, benzyl alcohol, potassium sorbate.

Thanks, Del! Yep, I always look for Behentrimonium Methosulfate, too. I'll go check out the EO site -- I'm curious about what's in the EO Oil Blend - I'm trying to avoid jojoba oil. My hair seems to do ok with avocado and coconut. I know Jillipoo loves this stuff so it's gotta be good!

I'm avoiding too many oils myself as you well know ;) it was my understanding that the oil blend is the Essential Oils, otherwise they list the actual oils like Sunflower or Coconut. Jojoba isn't in the category of EO's right? EO's are primarily fragrance,no? BTW I'm no expert but that ingredient was new to me so wanted to make sure you knew too!

Good to know -- obviously, I'm oil ignorant. I just know my hair is picky about them.

ETA: I just noticed that the Komaza Coconut Pudding -- which I really like -- has shea butter and cocoa butter like the WDT. That's telling me I should be looking for these 2 ingredients. Hmmmmmmmm.........

from the EO website it lists all of their ingredients and what they're for. Pretty neat!

MSG I just wanted to let you know that I used my EO Chamomile Honey condish and I REALLY loved it. I started clumping in the shower which is very rare for me. It smells so light and wonderful! I don't know if it's the combination of ingredients but it has to have something to do with Coconut and Honey ;) for me anyway.....

I really liked the Chamomile & Honey conditioner but couldn't get past the smell. I found it sharp & earthy. It stayed with me all day too. If it was a warmer scent I could use it.

Disclaimer: I am not a conditioner expert. :)

But.... I do love the EO Rose and Chamomile Conditioner (which, by the way, the company recently told me is their heaviest conditioner -- who knew? It doesn't feel heavy at all to me!). Like all conditioners that I am fond of, Behentrimonium Methosulfate is indeed in it.

As I read that [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Jessicurl-Weekly-Deep-Conditioning-Treatment-p-106.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=jessicurl-weekly-deep-conditioner-treatment]Jessicurl WDT[/buylink] ingredient list, though, I also thought it looked similar to DevaCurl OneCondition. OneC, though, has some glycerin (which is why I don't love it) and does not contain any Behentrimonium Methosulfate. And so I have just proven that I am not a conditioner expert.

Curious to see what other suggestions you get, though!

Have you used [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Oyin-Honey-Hemp-Conditioner-p-860.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=oyin-honey-hemp-conditioner]Oyin Honey Hemp[/buylink] condish? I think I may pick up another bottle of that. I loved it when I used it before I just prefer not to have to order something but I think I will bite the bullet.

Yes, I've used [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Oyin-Honey-Hemp-Conditioner-p-860.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=oyin-honey-hemp-conditioner]Oyin Honey Hemp[/buylink] -- and it made me frizzy. But I am more the exception than the rule, I think. Honey and all things humectanty do that to me. :(

Sorry jillipoo - I was not clear - I was giving MsG a suggestion. I think you and I both tried the Oyin around the same time last year.

You know, I do have the [buylink=http://www.curlmart.com/Oyin-Honey-Hemp-Conditioner-p-860.html?utm_source=naturallycurly.com&utm_medium=text-link&utm_content=curltalk-post-text&utm_campaign=oyin-honey-hemp-conditioner]Oyin Honey Hemp[/buylink]. I think I got it right before winter hit and I haven't used it since because of the honey and everything; figured it would be too humectanty (is that a word? probably not) for this very dry, cold winter. Thanks for reminding me -- do you have luck with it in the winter?

I did pull out my Innersense Color Radiance conditioner and while it does have some oil in it, it doesn't have jojoba oil and it has shea butter. That worked pretty well.

I think I must need conditioners that have shea butter and/or cocoa butter (at least in the winter), as well as Behentrimonium Methosulfate. Keep those suggestions coming!

Oyin Hemp has Honey higher on the list than the EO does. I can't use Honey in my stylers right now it seems, but in the EO condish not a problem at all. I've never tried this one though, this could be an experiment for a day that doesn't matter so you can try it out.

Thanks CIC! I haven't tried the Avalon or EO conditioners yet. I do have the Tigi MM and every time I used it, I got terrible spider web frizz so I put it away.

I really like the AO Olive and Grapeseed as well. And I want to try the EO one - I had it in my hand last week but I have bought about 40 conditioners in the last 2-3 weeks so I put it back.

I also was not sure about the smell of the EO one - jillipoo does it stay in your hair?

Oh good -- I'm glad to know you like the AO Olive and Grapeseed, because I think our hair is pretty similar. Another nudge toward me buying it (sometime in 2011 when I deplete my current inventory of conditioners).

The smell of the EO one doesn't linger as much as Aubrey conditioners with rose scent do, but yes, I smell it for an hour or two later. It's the only down side of the product -- I am not a fan of the smell of roses in products. Reminds me of my mother-in-law.

I'm surprised Tigi MM didn't work for you, I wonder if there were other "factors / stylers" at play that gave you halo frizz...I'm pretty sure the second or third ingredient is Behentrimonum Methosulfate which you mentioned you liked.

When I get the frizz it usually means I need to shampoo or DT.

I don't know -- it was last year and I don't think I've used it since. I'll have to pull it out and try again and see if I have the same problem. I've been doing DTs once a week and low pooing once, maybe twice a week lately so I should be ok in that area.

I'm not surprised actually it does have glycerin pretty high in the list. Tigi was great all Summer but it STINKS for me this Winter! Makes me frizz like crazy in these low Dews.

I'm just jealous cause I want some AO O&G but haven't found it locally....yet.

I got terrible frizz with Tigi MM, too. Glycerin is fairly high on the list of ingredients, it has no protein (which I need), and there are no oils. It felt all sexy in my hands and in my hair when I applied it, but post-shower, it was a frizzy experience. Weird that it's working for you in your climate, CurlyinColorado.

Gosh, now I'm going to be looking at my bottle funny :tongue3: every time I use it. I did use it the last couple of days before I no poo'd, I wonder if that made a difference. I'm going to use today and will report back.

SheaM has glycerin and it loves me. The one thing I have to avoid is panethol (sp?), my hair does not like this ingredient at all.

ETA: I have not used Tigi for more than two days at a time, perhaps it builds up after repeated uses.

SheaM has lots of other oils too though probably helps to counteract the Glycerin. If the Tigi works for you then use it by all means! I know rudeechick is still using it in the low dews without issues.
