Adding Scent to Raw Unrefined Shea Butter and Making Shealoe
Okay, so I bought some raw, unrefined shea butter (from crabapplesoap.com per the great reviews- thanks!). I knew that I might not like the smell (based on what I read on here), so I decided to try to scent it.
I bought some perfume oils from Whole Foods (Black Coconut and Vanilla so it would match the scent of my Jessicurl stuff). I placed the shea butter in hot water to soften it and whipped it. I divided it in half and made shealoe with half and kept the other half as shea butter. However, I can smell the oils I added, and it still has a bothersome smell. Also, the Shealoe I made hardened (as well as the shea butter). What am I doing wrong? How am I supposed to use this?
